Nonu staying in New Zealand

Munster i hear were making a pretty big bid to attract Nonu but ultimately he's not for turning.

No secret that the munster midfield needs something and along with their scrum, its been a major area of concern this past season.

So whats plan B for the men in red? they went for Nonu but could not get him, They had JDV a couple of seasons back but he turned out to be rather disappointing and for all the world looked like he had come for the pay cheque and a bit of rest-bite for SA.

For both the centre position and the tighthead position the are in desperate need of a couple a decent players. SO...
If your munster who would you be looking to attract? Who is available? Who would you spend your cash on?

An alternative option would be Muliaina, yes he plays full back but a talented guy, he can play along the backline.
After the WC there will be enough TH's to go round, mostly from the Puma's.

"After the WC there will be enough TH's to go round, mostly from the Puma's."

the pumas i.e. the prop factory.

"Muliaina" he would be one hell of a signing and i guess with Doug Howlette in munster and loving it, Muliaina might see it as a home away from home. Plus we know that the munster name garners a lot of respect in NZ so well done ashes, thats a good call and you could be spot on there.

mmm might leave Felix Jones out in the cold and he's one of our best youngster coming through at the moment. So i hope ur right about mills playing other positions.

highlights the academy problems in munster at the moment tho. where leinster are producing player after player and competition for places, munster i feel have been lax in this area and now are faced with a situation where they have no players coming through so they have to go to the coffers and buy talent. And its not just in the centre either, its almost every position and we will see a whole raft of retirements after the WC so guys need to be replaced.

No succession plan in place from what i can see.

I hope they get it sorted because for all my leinster'ness im a massive fan of munster. And i appreciate what they have done for us. Irish rugby has massively improved in the professional era and its in no small part down to the achievements of the men in red.

Does it have to be a SH player ??? If so - I find it very annoying!

Not at all, they need a good player one that suits there style. i dont think it matters where hes from, on paper JDV was perfect for them but we saw nothing from him. And his time at munster well and truly ended the debate as to who was better BOD or JDV. BOD owned every game rather easily too.

Anyway off the point a bit there. They need someone badly to create the link. thats why they were after nonu who i think would have suited them big time. that type of player i guess.
