Fixtures, fixtures

Bayern v Chelsea 19th may.

Bayern fixures remaining
28.4 Stuttgart
5.5 Koln

Chelsea
29.4 QPR
2.5 Newcastle
5.5 Pool FAC final
8.5 Pool
13.5 Blackburn

So Bayern have two matches and a rest for 15 days
Chelsea have to play 5 matches including the FAC final but will have a 5 day rest period before the big one.

The question is how will this affect the players on both teams? Will Bayern become a little rusty after a two week break? Will the Chelsea players relish having more to do to keep their minds and bodies active or will these in between games result in injuries and tiredness ?
Both teams will be on absolute highs for their achievements. But how much will the in between fixtures affect both teams?
Winning the ECL will mean covering the fourth place target. Should Roberto focus on the big one or will he risk players for the remaining league games. For the FAC , and also because its Liverpool, we have to go all out to win that. The league games which are about qualifying places, how important are they in current context?
Over to you.....

We won't have to worry about resting Terry, Ivanovic and Ramires and Meireles so might as well get use out of them during the run in.

Some might think we should focus solely on ECL as we have a decent chance even with players out to go the whole way.
Taking risks in the remaining league games may mean risking gaining zilch. The FAC takes care of itself, we go all out. But dividing the focus may also give out a signal about lack of confidence.
I'd like us to give it our all on all fronts, but in this very interesting situation, where an experienced general will have to make some wise decisions, Roberto may decide that our best chance is to win the ECL with minimum risk in the build up.

You could well be right, but it's not listed on their fixture list.

sounds bad but draws in our next two league games might just help us win the CL, thus still qualifying.

Well then there goes the "match sharpness" argument, increases the injury risk factor for our opponents.

Between now and May 19th we cant just be playing half-heartedly in the PL losing/drawing matches which are easily winable because we want to rely on one Final in the CL which we are not guaranteed to win in a months time especially with key players missing that is just crazy
