Alex Ferguson rues lack of service to RvP

"With Robin in your team you know you want to use his ability against centre-backs in situations he is very good at - but we didn't use him enough."

Err, would this be the same Ferguson who decided to leave the players, and writers player of the year on the bench for 70 mins!!??

You can buy all the strikers in the world Fergie boy, but when our midfield is useless and our defense falls apart (Carrick left flat on his face) we're gonna win nothing, again.

Were it not for De Gea, that would have been embarrassing.

He achieved more in 20 than Rooney did for 90 mins, who was yet again, rubbish.

did he???

im not saying Rooney wasnt rubbish, but what exactly did RVP achieve?

3 decent crosses, one resulting in the ball eventually being cleared off the line. Granted not a huge contribution, but as I say, more than Rooney produced.

You never gonna win football matches if you don't score, we didn't and deserved the loss. I've said it before, I'll repeat myself - too much traveling in the pre season tour, and we struggled to find the back of the net, why? Offensive movement was poor, so was the finishing.

Everton's defence was very good yesterday, but we would have scored if Rooney/ Welbeck had been sharper in front of goal.

What converns me the most is that it didn't look like the players wanted for all 90 minutes, and that has cost us before.

The game also shown what I've claimed for a long time, Nani is still an inconsistent player - and Valencia is a far better option on the right winger. And the Rafael/Valencia connection is quite good as well. But with Rafael there also comes a package.

We face some adjustments, one is that Rooney is coming to get the ball instead of running through, Kagawa is excellent on those through passes. And with RvP who do all that, didn't get involved alot. We lacked pace in the play both in midfield and defence. The wingers wasn't wide enough to make room in the middle(One of many things Valencia is superior Nani).

There's a but, most of this you can read on the lips of Fergie on the match interview. So I'm confident the players already have got their instructions. (!)

Am I the only person who thinks for the first time, Fergie is letting sentiment get in the way of decisions?

Scholes shouldn't be such a vital part of the team at 38. I also think he's wanted RVP for so long that he ended up taking an expensive gamble he wouldn't usually of done.

The thing we were missing in midfield last night was Carrick and that was because he was in defense. When Rio and Co are fit, things will be different.
