Xbox security updates

Need a bit of advice: My Xbox is going to require two bits of security information to allow me to access Xbox live which is fine as I will give my mobile number and additional email.

However the email address I gave 5 or so years also as security proof is now invalid so I can't access mails from Microsoft to confirm my additional security.
I have requested to remove the invalid email and replace it with a newly created one. This will take 30 days so does this mean I may not be able to get on live until this is changed?

I signed up the other day and had a similar problem. It wouldn't let me use my default hotmail account.

I had to use the Sky e-mail I recently set up and create a new profile as I couldn't change the e-mail connected to my existing profile.

I'm now on, but at the cost of my old profile and my 12,000+ gamer points

Hope you get it sorted. Add ams7erdambob79 when you do

don't want to lose 70000 gamer points
I guess I'll have to wait a month to see if it works
I think it will as my old address is scheduled to be removed and a new one plus my contact number are due to be added

Champagne: did you try removing your old security proof which I imagine would be your email? There is an option to do that

Mate, I'm a total amateur at all things online. I could probably have waited a day or two and got one of my mates to sort it but you know what its like....Ethernet cable, check.......gold membership code, check......gotta play now!!!

Had my xbox 3 years and never bothered with live, but we had broadband put in and I thought sod it. Problem is its just an arcade model so gonna need a hard drive upgrade to play the proper multiplayer games like COD, etc. can't believe I didn't hook it up sooner, especially as I'm so good at FIFA........

Ring up Xbox on their 0800 number which is free of charge from house lines.
