Best England units ever

I'd go :

Front Row - Woodman Thompson Vickery
2nd Row - Johnson Shaw
Back Row - Hill Back Dallaglio

Half Backs - Dawson Wilkinson

Centres - Carling Guscott
Back 3 - Cohen Robinson Luger

Interesting, a lot of those don't look that impressive on paper and I'd take Corbisiero-Hartley-Cole over that front row.

Would you maybe go for Johnson & Bayfield in the 2nd row? In the three quarters would you go for the Underwoods and Mike Catt - I'd say Robinson would be better - just than Catt but I think both Underwoods and especially Rory would be better than Cohen or Luger

Totally agree on the back row

Sars, no way is your front row anywhere near the world cup winning one. That pack destroyed all comers home and away, beating new Zealand with 6 forwards for the last ten minutes says it all. Would not put liver in, Robinson for me, Cohen was on fire in the eighteen months before the world cup, remarkably quiet during and after but compared with the undewoods he was far better defensively.

Luger not liver! I would have Mayfield in though

Hi there KEIOC

I agree that it was a great pack, but I think that was due to the incredible 2nd and back rows rather than the front row. I really think the current front row is better than that one - which came as a surprise to me when I first considered it!
