Look it was cowardly the way he did it from behind and so far off the ball...but we've all lost our heads on the rugby pitch and done stupid and often violent things. You apologise to your opponent, buy him a beer and try to control yourself better next time.

You also dont complain next time you play them and the whole team have your card marked...you take your medicine knowing full well you deserve it!

I really don't want to see Rugby head down the football route of everything being a card / suspension or ban / fine...and bringing the law into it could seriously kill the game dead.

Wow SARS mate that's the script for the next SAW movie.

Five weeks was pathetic though. But we'er used to this these days aren't we. I don't like it but its true enough that the AB players seem to get away with murders. I think a 12 week playing ban would have been inline with the crime. And with that i have a question. Is this a playing ban? will he miss 5 weeks of games or just the next five weeks?

I'm certainly looking forward to Dean Ryan's tactical analysis of it!

Yes he should have been banned for longer. The commissioner that dished out the punishment sounded like the most easily pleased numpty imaginable if you read the report.
I just hate any mention of criminal proceedings, It's a tough sport, if someone can't handle it then don't play.

(Obviously cases such as that poor bloke being blinded in 1 eye are the exception as there's no room for that thuggery)
