First of all, massive congratulations to Sebastian for taking his third World Championship, to all those rubbing the board's nose in it,
As you probably worked out from the title, I thought it would be interesting to tally up the vital statistics on the two drivers that provoke the most discussion on these websites now that their time as team-mates has come to an end.
I did some digging and here's how it adds up, looking at all 3 seasons as a whole:
Race Victories: Hamilton 10 - 8 Button
Podium Finishes Including Wins: Hamilton 22 - 25 Button
Total Championship Points: Hamilton 657 - 672 Button
Head-to-Head Qualifying: Hamilton 44 - 14 Button
Race Retirements/Non-Point Finishes: Hamilton 13 - 11 Button
If you guys can think of any that can be added to that list, feel free to do so.
So when looking at these stats, we come to the question of who was better, Hamilton or Button?
From what I can see here, I'd pretty much call it a draw. But what do I know?

Edinspur (U1109) - It seems to me that your sole motivation for making the comments regarding Hamilton's morals is more to do with the fact that you are uncomfortable with the fact that some members of this forum actually like the guy.
During the 2007 season Hamilton bashers such as yourself constantly complained about Hamilton having his father as his manager. They even complained when he attended race meetings. No other driver has ever been criticised for the presence of family members at race meetings. They demanded that he fired his father and then criticised him when he did what they demanded.
No doubt you will state that Hamilton should do his talking on the track yet fail to pay attention to anything he does on the track. Preferring instead to scour the internet every day in a desperate search to discover something you can complain about.
I don't use twitter but if there is a pub quiz that has Lewis Hamilton as a subject then the best people to have on your team are his bashers. They have devoted so much time to studying his every move.
As for the lack of fuel incidents, He did not actually fuel the car himself but if he did I think he would have made a better job of it than McLaren.

Mclaren underfuelled his car. It wasn't his fault except you believe the drivers put fuel in their cars
