Arsenal v B.Munich - The stakes have risen

This is such, such an important game for Arsenal. The UEFA Champions League is Arsenal's only hope of silverware this season. Tonight, they face last year's beaten finalists in Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich are hoping to make amends after their final loss in their country, city and stadium. Arsenal will be desperate to win the UCL. The stakes have just risen a little bit more.



Nacho Monreal is ineligible after he appeared in the UCL earlier in the season for Malaga, who are also in action tonight v FC Porto. I think Bacary Sagna will stay at RB, but Carl Jenkinson will move to left-back with Kieran Gibbs also out with injury. B.Munich wing players - Right: Phillip Lahm, Arjen Robben and Left: David Alaba, Franck Ribery. I do not think Arsenal can contain Bayern's wing threat. It is no secret Munich will base their attacking play in the wing positions with the players they posses and Arsenal's left-back woes. Arjen Robben v Carl Jenkinson shall be tasty, and could be the player battle that determines the full-time result. It could also be Jenkinson on the right (Jenkinson v Ribery) and Vermaelen on the left. This would mean Arsenal have a better chance of containing Robben but then are letting Ribery go on the loose.
