Brawn says team orders a no-brainer

Ross Brawn believes that instructing his drivers to hold position in the closing stages of the Malaysian Grand Prix was a no-brainer because both Mercedes cars were marginal on fuel.

I've got someone on the inside for another team who has it on good authority that they stopped developing last years car and were working on this one a long time ago because they were looking to offer Schumi's seat to Hamilton and needed to show him they were serious about their challenge.

I've also been reliably informed that there's been an almighty tiff at the fizzy drinks company's driver briefing and it appears someone will not be offered a new contract and will suddenly have a re-emergence of KERS problems

On Lap 45 Rosberg passed Hamilton and was immediately re-passed.

On Lap 46 Rosberg made the same attempt and was immediately re-passed

If Rosberg's car was so faster than Hamilton then why did he not pass him him during the race before the 4 pit stop?

Why did Rosberg not pull out a fast lap before his fourth pit stop when he had a chance of passing Hamilton?

Why didn't Rosberg shoot away after passing Hamilton on Lap 45?

He passed him on the back straight and then hamilton passed him on the pit straight with DRS. Rosberg was making a point. Or perhaps is was a tactic as emlpoyed in Open Wheels in the States where team mates can draft each other in order that both ultimately go faster together and save fuel But thats an oval track tactic doubtful it applies here.

Anyway, what does it matter. Lets agree to disagree. If you think Lewis was faster then so be it. Rosberg was withing a second of Lewis for the last 15 laps and over took him several times as you pointed out. Seems pretty obvious to me and the rest of the world who was faster on the day. But hey believe what ever you want.

Sorry mate, to answer your question about why rosberg didnt drive away from hamilton.

HE WAS TOLD NOT TOO BY ROSS BRAWN.

It was only 2 days ago. surly you didn't forget already?

Just for the record. Im not against hamilton. on the day Rosberg was faster. And in my opinion should have been allowed to go and chase the RB's
Im not poo pooing your boy Hamilton at all. so please relax and don't take it personally. Other wise im gona have to start calling you jessica Flecher and wondering when the knife will be plunged into my back.

There are two DRS zones in Malaysia. Rosberg had the advantage of the first one and Hamilton then had the advantage of the second one. Therefore, using the DRS by both drivers cancelled out it's advantage.

There is no need to use capitals when trying to make your point. I video taped the BBC highlights so I can watch it whenever. The team order came after the final pit stop. On the lap before Rosberg made his final pit stop he did not have Hamilton in front of him.

I'll get Columbo to sort it out once and for all.

And im pretty sure Hamilton was told to go into fuel saving many many many many laps before that aswell. I seem to remember the commentators saying Lewis needing to conserve fuel at least halfway throught the race

Hamilton:

"I was fuel-saving from lap 25 and it was very much an impossible task to challenge those up ahead."

Lewis needing to conserve fuel from lap 25 only goes further toward my own opinion that Nico should have been released and allowed to chase the RB's

Yes Nico passed Lewis in the first DRS zone then allowed Lewis past again clearly making a pont about who was faster. not a subtle point either. Brawn, got the point and thats what cause the wee barney over the radio.

Anyway. Lewis has a hell of a lot more class than Vettel see below.
- Lewis Hamilton -
"If I'm honest I feel Nico should be standing here, he had better pace through the race," Hamilton told reporters while on the podium.

"He is a great teammate, I will speak to the team, or apologise. I said to him he did a fantastic job. Nico deserved to be where I am.

"With the position in the championship the team thought it was logical to stay in position, but Nico drove a smarter and more controlled race than me today. Would I let him past in the future? I probably would."

Our interpretations of the race can be debated forever and a day.
Lewis confirmed my opinion.
Let's move on and be cool mate. Im not arguing about it. you make valid points based on your interpretations. I make mine. Agree to disagree.
