Team orders wow

I couldn't watch the gp live on Sunday due to being in Leeds for family reasons well I've finally seen it after keeping the result and the subsequent drama after out of my path (quite remarkable really after all the furor)

The season has started with a bang lotus winning the opener but Vettel disobeying team orders to snatch victory from Webber was something else, there will be some tension on that team from here on in, also the Mercedes decision to keep Rosburg being Hamilton Matty cone back to haunt them after the radio conversations.

What I don't understand though the team orders do early in the season, I could maybe understand Mercedes decision as they under fueled Hamilton's car and put him at a disadvantage and keeping rosburg behind protected the 3/4 finish.

All I can say is roll on China!!!!

portishead

think red bull were afraid of the tires that were on the cars at the time disappearing up there own a-r-s-e and both drivers would have needed another stop which would have allowed the mercs to beat them

frankly i think red bull were being a little paranoid as vettel made his last even after he fought and got past webber --
but end of the day red bull know what they are doing so it is not my place to question there calls --

These were not team orders in the the way Ferrari instructed Massa to give his 1st place to Alonso. This was pragmatism when, after the final pit stop with MW 1st and Vettel 2nd, the team felt the race was won, 1st and 2nd place guaranteed, so instructed their drivers to reduce settings and bring the cars home safely. Webber obeyed, reduced his speed and Vettel didn't so was able to steal the win

So anyone thinking. "They were racing each other" when they were told to turn down their settings to reduce speed and fuel use to make sure of a 1,2 and only Webber obeyed are badly mistaken.Jonny Herbert said he'd have run Vettel off the road but Mark Weber, being a team man, good employee and not a selfish egotist, chose not to.

Can you imagine how Senna would have reacted?

No wonder Horner didn't want Hamilton in the team, they wouldn't have finished a race.

Vettel just showed the world he is a man with no integrity.

Interesting comments from Webber about the usual protection. Makes me laugh when people suggest they are treated equally.
