Now I've a feeling the html code won't work so I've got a plan B

See what you think?!
We also need to decide how we are doing this. Are we all going to chat away here or on the Blog? Makes no difference to me but we should all be on the same page.
Anyway, I hope the match thread this season works as well as it has done in the past

At the time, Hayter and Mason were dropping into midfield because Brighton were getting more of the ball, so we were defending.
Sharp has to come off. Its an enforced substitution. Enforced substitutions usually mean that the manager tries to make minimal change to formation / plan / tactics etc. Admittedly, this is not a rule.
Now who is the most like Billy as a player? Hayter or Brown? Hayter, clearly.
So Barnes comes on and Hayter is supposed to take up Sharp's position. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen.
Now what point am I missing? We were one goal up at the time so what I've just described sounds reasonable.
That said, I would have given Brown a go, but understand completely why SOD didn't.
My opinion is that people spend little time trying to understand the manager when his decision does not match what they would do. Its easier just to say "he got it wrong"
If you do that, you get to the "time to sack him" point much earlier than if you try my option. If you want the proof that keeping on sacking managers doesn't work, I'll post you a link. Its a statistical paper made from over 30 years study of English football results written by someone much cleverer than me.
When SOD makes a completely unfathomable decision to me, I'll let you know. This one wasn't.

Hayter took up Sharp's role and he got carried off as well.- Football topic is it?

No he didn't. That was the problem. Hayter like everyone else was trying to win the ball in midfield. Look who's weak header fell for Buckley to score his first. Yes, it was Hayter, who should not have been back there.

Did he get carried off injured? You DID say "Was Trying" I think a game of pinball rings a bell

He got carried off die to an unfortunate accident as he tried to volley a head back for a corner or did I miss SOD causing that too?

I stated that he got carried off. YOU stated that it was his poor header that gave Brighton a goal, and I pointed out that all was happening was that Donny had nowhere to go as they kept kicking it out it came straight back ie the goal. So what is your point? or are you trying to keep this on and belittle me. BECAUSE my old mate you are light years away from suceeding in that. Yes I too have better things to do. I have been on Leeds and WHU sites. Boy, you think we have problems

Look Bally, you need to understand me a wee bit. I've never been out to belittle, insult or upset anyone on this site or 606 since I started posting many years ago. I enjoy discussing my football team and, unless a decent argument is put over that I can follow, I will stand my ground. Put over a good argument and I have no problem conceding ground. Its about as simple as that.
To date, I have always thought Sean O'Driscoll and John Ryan have done and continue to do more good than harm for the Rovers. Yes, they can improve as nobody is perfect but for now, they do a decent job as far as I am concerned.
You can make comments about what colour tints my glasses have. I wouldn't advise it as I think such comments cheapen yours or anyone else's arguments.
You can bring the subject off football by pointing to the more important things in the world, Again I wouldn't recommend it as this is a football forum. If you want to discuss the terrible sacrifice our soldiers make in their service find a forum where that sort of thing is discussed. I'm not and won't belittle the more important things in the world, but I also won't discuss them on a football forum.
So if you want to try and budge me in what I think about my football team. Take your best shot. It will require a good reasoned argument as there is plenty of factual evidence to suggest my opinion of the way the team is coached and run is correct.
Please, as everyone does, feel free to reply to my posts, replies or articles. I write them to get replies / reaction. But don't have a mama when I disagree with you. Thats my perogative as much as disagreeing with me is yours.
