Russian Tournament Preview Group A

Here are the previews for the upcoming Fifa Russian Tournament, hope you enjoy!

Group A

Virus

Team: Lokomotiv

Odds: 3 – 1

Previous Tournament Performances: Quarter-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Quarter-Finals

Ranked: 14th

Virus is one of the lucky ones this tournament who has a decent team in lokomotiv. This should serve him well in a relatively difficult group. I expect him to draw with Voom and take all 3 points off both 50P and Tyke. As for the knock-outs he always seems to get into the quarters and then go out against Voom or May. I anticipate him to get to the semi-finals in this tournament which will represent a solid tournament for him.

Verdict: Semi-Final

Voom

Team: Volga

Odds: 2 - 1

Previous Tournament Performances: Semi-Final, Winner, Winner, Semi-Final, Winner, Quarter-Final

Ranked: 3rd

Voom has never gone two tournaments without winning the title and having been drawn a weak team he is really going to have to pull it out of the bag to keep up that impressive record. That is not to say he isn’t capable. He never really struggles in the group stage and I only expect Virus to give him a challenge, whilst seeing off Tyke and 50p. As for the knock-outs he will be a lethal opponent for anybody, but with his severely weakened team I only expect him to being able to take them so far. I think Voom will finish in the semi-finals for this tournament bettering his last effort which was his worst tournament so far, but again failing to win the title.

Verdict: Semi-Final

50P

Team: CSKA Moscow

Odds: 6 – 1

Previous Tournament Performances: N/A

Ranked: N/A

A mysterious newcomer in 50P. Now what can I really say he has drawn a hard group, but a very good team. Newcomers tend to do alright in these tournaments and do not have the mental handicap of having been beaten by any of the entrants in this group before. So if he proves to be a solid enough player, he could shock players especially with CSKA Moscow. Sideshow did it last tournament, maybe 50p can? Personally I predict his inexperience to be his downfall all the other three players have been there and done it, so unfortunately it looks to be a learning curve for 50p.

Verdict: Group-Stages

Tyke

Team: Mordov Saransk

Odds: 5 – 1

Previous Tournament Performances: Final, semi-final, group stages, group stages, quarter-final, semi-final, group stages, group stages, semi-final, Group-Stages

Ranked: 6th

Last tournament was harsh on me, coming in with all that optimism only to lose all three of my matches, two in a cruel fashion and one an absolute mauling by May to finish bottom of the group and go out early in yet another tournament. The setting for this tournament doesn’t look promising either. A really weak team and a difficult group could result in yet another pointless group-stage exit. Taking all three points off 50P is a must, and then hopefully catching Voom or Virus on an off game will take me through. A tough ask and there appears to be little chance of it happening, but then again nobody expected me to progress in Norway…

Verdict: Group-Stages

Predicted Group Standing:

1. Virus 7 pts
2. Voom 7 pts
--------------------------------------------
3. Tyke 3 pts
4. 50P 0 pts
