MOTM

The MOTM is so tough to call we have had 3 world class displays in this match. We have had root getting a massive 180 and picking up 2 wickets, bell getting a century and an important 74 in the second innings and finally swann destroying australia with his five for in their first innings and picking up a further 3 wickets in the 2nd innings aswell as starting the rot in australias 2nd innings with 2 of the first 3 wickets plus an exciting 28 on his batting side. For me I'm going for bell, he came to the crease when we were in trouble and played a magnificent innings which put us in control and contributed in both innings with 2 sizeable scores. Whoever gets it completely deserves it and whoever misses out is unlucky to be in such a strong team were many players are putting in world class performances.

ROOT, no hesitation.

Aussie batting is so fragile these days that it is hard say anybody bowled exceptionally well against them. The likes of Paul Harris and Herbie Singh would have run through them too. There is no hope for Australia if Clarke doesn't post a century plus.

Root was always going to get it, 180 at Lords

Root.

To be honest I agree with root being man of the match now. The point of this article is when have seen both a centurion and somebody who has a nine wicket haul to both to miss out on the man of the match award

It simply has to be Joe Root. I mean, seriously, I could take wickets against this Aussie team. It's runs that will win us this series, not wickets.

Personally i thought Bell should have got MOTM.

Saves it in the 1st Innings when the tp order flopped.

Root batted with basically no pressure. We where basically 260 for 0 when he started batting.

What exactly did he "save"? Even without Bell's runs we would have still had a first innings lead of over 100 runs!

Joe Root . I admit am wrong he does look ready to be an opener in test cricket. Lets hope he can cash in next 3 tests at home.Make Australia sick of the sight of him

Without bells 100 in the 1st innings we would most likely have scored around 200-250.
