Doesn't look that cheap? You can go into Tesco and pay £250 for one with 4gb Ram, 300gb hd, dual processor etc, and it comes with a years warranty.

That has double the ram, triple the the HD capacity, Dual at 2.7 ghz and 2gb of dedicated graphics. What you are quoting is nowhere near what I have found and is only £133 cheaper!

Just buy the latest Macbook Air.
I'm sure you can get it for just under £800 if you're a student.

Depends very much on what games you want to play - a quick warning now is dont expect to be playing Titan Fall or BF4 on full. Also the budget is very important. May I ask why you need a laptop as an £800 gaming PC is better than a £3000 gaming laptop........
If you do want a laptop that is good bang for buck i would suggest something like:
[29/07/2013 16:42:50] simonwest80: http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/MSI_GX70_Quad_Core_AMD_A10_8GB_750GB__128GB_SSD_17.3_inch_Windows_8_Gaming__GX70_3BE-041UK/version.asp#maindesc
When it was available it was under £1000. And compared with the others that have been linked on here this one can actually play games like Skyrim or Farcry 3 on high settings at a decent rate.
