What is Henderson doing in the England squad? There are players in the U21s who should be getting minutes ahead of him.
He's played 11 full PL games this season, mostly as an attacking player, and has no goals and one meagre assist to his name.
He's got no quality on the ball and never will have, a decent top speed but the acceleration of an 18 wheeler, no vision and a terrible first touch which means he can't get rid of the ball soon enough when he manages to trap it, usually backwards or back to the same player who passed it to him in the first place.
He works hard, yes, he gives his all, yes he does indeed, but never good enough, he's 24 in June and there's nothing to suggest he's gonna acquire an ounce of technical ability. He is what he is, average.

I also have never been and will never be a fan of Henderson because I think he'll not make at Liverpool. I just thought the OP should have looked at other players as well who should not have been with England like the Chelsea trio who are finished and should not be playing international football nor at a club like Chelsea

England have always had great central midfielders and strikers but struggled in other areas. If you look at U21 level now, England have great wingers and many. Good defenders and full backs.
With a bit of luck, you get players coming through in all positions, like Spain and Germany have experienced recently.

Henderson did well when he came on actually. He looked for the ball and generally looked like he wanted to change the game. He has had a good season and the confidence he showed last night comes from that. Hopefully he continues to improve.

When Henderson came on he was always looking to get the ball and make himself available. It is hardly his fault if that selfish moron Rooney decided to never pass to him when he was available. He can't really do much without the ball!
If you have watched him this season for Liverpool, he is involved in most of our goals in one way or another. Be that drawing players away to allow space for others, making the pass before the actual assist, or harassing the opposition so they make a mistake and give the ball away. He has come on a hell of a lot in the last 18 months and the goals will come soon for Liverpool.

I find It amusing when people search for scapegoats as to why England are such an average team.
It's not because of one or two players. It's unfortunately the state of the English game.
Players are scared on the ball, show no composure and sometimes complete lack of control.
P.s Henderson was actually the one substitute who seemed capable of retaining possession and distributing the ball.

Chile, who I, as a Jock have always supported, man and boy, played you"se lot off the park yesterday. To pick on Jordan is pathetic. He certainly wasn't the worst layer on an England shirt yesterday. I have been and will continue to be a supporter of him and his efforts. England simply do not have the talent nor the fight to progress on the world stage.
