Hull City stunned Liverpool on Sunday afternoon as they claimed their first ever victory over them in their history.

It was a very scrappy game and Hull scored the opening goal with a huge slice of luck. Jake Livermore took a shot from 25 yards which took a massive deflection off the heel of Martin Skrtel and gave Simon Mignolet no chance as it looped over him into the net.

However, the lead did not last long as Liverpool were level seven minutes later. Jordan Henderson was fouled in a dangerous position just outside the box and Steven Gerrard stepped up and curled the free kick into the far corner.

Liverpool went on to have most of the possession and camped inside Hull's half for long periods, but moments after a glaring miss from Victor Moses with 20 minutes to go, they found themselves behind again.

Liverpool failed to deal with the ball in their own penalty area after a number of unsuccessful attempts to clear, and it eventually found its way to David Meyler who slotted it into the bottom right corner.

And the Reds' misery was compounded with three minutes to go after Tom Huddlestone's wayward effort was turned into his own net by Skrtel to wrap up the three points for Hull.

With Daniel Sturridge being ruled out for six to eight weeks, this was a bad day for Liverpool and will now be looking to bounce back quickly in their midweek game against Norwich City at Anfield.

We were hopeless all over the pitch and we got what we deserved today.

That's six goals in three games we've conceded since Brendan reverted back to 4 at the back, but more pertinently I thought that he players attitude today was poor, I didn't like some of the body language on display this afternoon. Hull outfought us where we were hesitant and negative. Backwards and side ways we passed the ball with f uck all urgency and tempo.

With Sturridge's injury and this pathetic performance and result, combined with three very rough away games coming up, this could be a day that has serious repercussions for the season. It's absolutely imperative we get a good result and performance on Wednesday against Norwich.

The players have to get this numbingly weak display out of their systems quickly.

We should force feed Sterling protein food in his sleep. He is like a feather

Whilst yes there is something in this, I often find it strange how referees allow Sterling to foul and brush it off as he's light anyway, so he will go do. A foul is when you're put at a disadvantage, with the defending player not playing the ball but creating contact between you and the defender. Often Sterling is barged off the ball from behind but it's not a foul?
