LAWRO LMAO defensively we are poor?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26546426
Man Utd v Liverpool (13:30 GMT)

This is a big game for Manchester United's fans because of the season their team is having, and obviously a very big one for manager David Moyes, too.

But defensively United are poor. Can they stop Liverpool's attack? I don't think so.

The great thing from Liverpool's point of view is that they are so good on the break - they can counter-attack with pace and, if they play well, I see them winning comfortably.

I can see Liverpool conceding because they are not great defensively either. But United will push on at home - they have to because it is the Manchester United way and it is demanded of them - and Liverpool can take advantage.

I very rarely back Liverpool to go to Old Trafford and win, but I feel that they will.

Lawro's prediction: 1-2

Ricky and Simon's prediction: 1-3
..............................................................
So keeping 3 clean sheets in a row away from home in our last 3 league games is poor now? We are actually defending very strongly in recent games making the opposition not have the clear cut chance to finish us off with. Liverpool conceded 5 goals in there last 3 league games, man utd have comceded 0 goals in there last 3 league games and liverpool have conceded more goals then us and de gea barely has a save to make usually thats difficult anymore.

I can see man utd up for it just like liverpool were when liverpool beat man utd 2-0 in 2009 fighting for every ball. I reckon man utd should win 4-0 against liverpool. I can see promising signs in recent league games and liverpool imo are actualy playing badly most games but winning and are due a right big thumping. Even liverpool fans think liverpool are playing badly and defensively all over the place. Mignolet is the reason why they haven't even conceded even more goals then they have with spectacular saves. big point saving saves. I think of stoke home aston villa away, swansea home big save in that game to.

Anyway liverpool have one of the weakest midfields in current top 10, the only thing you have to snuff out is suarez and sturridge then you bascially have liverpool penned in to there own penalty box. I would love it if we smash liverpool, all these pundits don't realise that man utd are the reigning champions and we are back to form and have players coming back to fitness.

Man utd conceded 31 goals liverpool conceded 35.

My prediction Man utd 4-0 Liverpool. This is due to us needing to win and show whose boss. Man utd players will be up for this and we can't let suarez score to so our defenders will be up for it especially evra. The extra desire to claw the gap to 8 points and even goal difference will see us have a thumping win as liverpool are all over the place defensively.

Lawro should take note last game at OT ended 1-0 to man utd, easiest game for our defenders along with against arsenal.

BBC have super sunday video.

Sky preview:

Moyes:

Rodgers:
http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/9213530/rodgers:-we-are-there-on-merit
Paul Merson thinks we are gonna lose 1-3 at OT so lets hope this type a similar thing happens like it did against arsenal at OT last time a side near the top came to OT.

Soon as Brendan Rodgers say they are here on merit I would love to see us get some decisions for us that influence a win in our favour as we dropped a lot of points that decisions cost us like newcastle southampton, fulham, tottenham home games stonewall pens denied and even lloris should have seen red card for tottenham, so should anita for newcastle seen a red card. The 4 games I mentioned we had stonewall pens not given at crucial times that cost us a chance to win the game.

Really depends on who we play. Same team as west brom well give them a game.

If any of young, valencia andcleverly play and we go for the safe defensive option we could be looking at a hiding similar to the one arsenal recieved.

Agree with that Stretty!

Defence doesn't really matter when you have the best strike partnership in the league by a country mile in Rooney and RVP. They have 22 goals between them this season. Until we face a team that can match that then we do not need to worry about our defence. We will outscore them all day long.

I would love it if the ref has a shocker and gives us game changing decisions. We are due at least 10 points worth of decisions.

Clattenberg apparently has never awarded a pen against United.

Sounds about right.

He said it today on football focus that man utd are all over the place defensively. I thought against west brom we defended near perfectly lol, 3 clean sheets out of 3 in the league this month is defensively all over the place. I take another defensively all over the place and another clean sheet tommorow.

I mean 3 clean sheets in the last 31 days.

Think Liverpool will get a penalty somewhere along the line. Maybe after a 'spanish foul'?

Clattenberg apparently has never awarded a pen against United. In a season of unwanted firsts, its got to happen...
.............
Well as a follow up 3 penalties but thankfully Gerrard didn't get a hat-trick of pens. Vidic sent off for a dive by Sturridge.

Clattenberg awarded two phantom pens against Leicester city and a phantom goal. Then again he was the same ref that denied nani a penalty against Tottenham for last man foul.
