Just read an article about the streak ending and apparently it was meant to happen but it was a bit of a secret and none of the commentators, announcers or indeed the referee knew about it. They'd probably just assume a Taker win was a foregone conclusion.
Can you imagine what the referee felt like when Taker didn't kick out? Like he'd botched one of the most iconic streaks in wrestling history? And his career was probably over?
I bet he absolutely shït himself!
The poor ref

The ref does have to know i'm afraid.
He looks shocked as thats a refs role at times, refs go to wrestling school as well

Apparently WWE aren't happy with the reaction to Taker losing. Hahahahahaha, also WWE.com were teasing that it wasn't his last match.

I can't believe that the ref didn't know, in such an important match they could not possibly afford to botch the outcome. What would be the advantage in not telling him? He isn't gonna spill the beans.

Daniel Bryan's dad just passed away tonight unexpectedly after he returned from his honeymoon with Brie Bella. He still insisted on performing tonight for the fans on RAW. This guy is just incredible.

You'll have gotten over it by WM31, don't worry.

When RAW comes back from advert breaks with those 'did you know?' messages they should do one where it says 'Did you know Paul Heyman client Brock Lesnar ended the WM streak of The Undertaker?'

They wouldn't do that, it's true
