Winding up order & playoffs

Is there nothing to this ?
Haigh simply after his 1 mill, nothing more ?
No complications, Cellino as before..will he just pay up & that will be the end of it ?

Playoffs, and I assume of more interest to you Ken !
Pete's Boro v the 'O's on Saturday...I know your preference . What of the outcome ?
& Preston v Rothers ! Who do we go for. The 'local' side, or Preston Both Ends managed by The Man who lead both our sides just recently.
He seems to be a lot happier & doing well there.

Then tonight . Our league.
Brighton v Derby,
then tomorrow Wigan v QPR.

Darns predictions & preferences
P'Boro to win at Home... pref the 'O's sorry Ken.
again. Preston at home, pref Rotherham.

Brighton for me tonight, I think the Rams will freeze ! I'd like to see the Seagulls mob at Wembley too.
& WIGAN all the way. I think they will win tonight , And I have my fingers crossed they do .

All this excitement eh ! & neither of our clubs are involved.

So.......Harry vs Schteve Think I'll give that one a miss

Still I imagine it will be a good crowd.

Pah.....
Caught the last half hour of normal time onwards.

Good high tempo game from what I saw, apart from a bit of arghzing about by QPR towards the end.
Once Rangers equalized I thought Wigan lost enthusiasm. The spark had gone.

Two ex-England managers in the Final.
I hope they take the gloves off & both sides go for it & play like they can do.....
But fear the FA Coaching manual mindset will come into play, & the more methodical (boring) approach will prevail..Not what fans going to Wembley for what is in effect a knock out final expect.

I know it's a mid week night match, & 'brass' is very tight for many...But Fleetwood at York ! Come on guy's. If you can't get excited about a play off game then when ? FFS, What, TWO coach loads
That's poor.

You're quiet Ken .............

Tough luck Pal, but I had to go with the 'O's' tonight...past history & ex Town & local boy Nathan Clarke Captain for Orient..
What a Game ! like watching 'Pin ball'

Going for Rothers tonight... & Them in the final if they make it.
But.... What's 'Larry' got up his sleeve

To be fair they've been poor since first 3 months of the season, but got the JPT as the consolation prize

PNE hopefully will do the business tomorrow, so far the higher placed teams have all progressed. I assume it is tomorrow due to tonights Europa League final?

Even though I knew the score...
Still watched the tie from 'New York' ...
I have to say, i thought it was a cracking game. Preston very unlucky not to at least have taken it to extra time.
On that showing.... I'd say Orient or P'boro would have struggled against either Preston or Rothers...
We'll see in about 7 or 8 days time.

Going for Gateshead on Sunday. This too should be a .
I'll run this by you ..let me know what you think !
This play off lark.. not very fair really, 6th gets a crack at over hauling 3rd ! SO..
How about 3rd bottom of any league, Just has a home & away play off against 3rd top of the respective lower league...to make sure they are worth of taking their place ! none of this glory 1 day stuff at Wembley, or ridiculous cost of this mini knock out.
So, lets say QPR v Norwich..just them , that's it.
that would go some way to making sure the better team stay's up on merit, or the lower club really is able to overcome the so called stronger side...& it might get rid of a good deal of the 'yo yo effect' that goes on ?
just a thought.

See many Europeans employ that system of a relegation/promotion playoff, and I wasn't too keen on that idea, although I get what you are saying. Don't believe the Prem teams in particular should be getting anymore help when they have far bigger budgets than all/the majority of Championship clubs. I mean Derby have done terrific to get 3rd, but to give Norwich a 2nd chance I don't believe would be right.

My Opinion..in a nutshell, I think 3 up, 3 down is too many & a reason why so many clubs literally struggle with this 'yo yo' effect.

Derby have done well, & unbeknown to many, (although I'm sure you'd be well aware) Have maintained a healthy core base support over the years that would embarrass many clubs currently in the top division.
But..
They did come 3rd.
I reckon it's more 'fair' That 3rd bottom of the 'Prem' get to show if they are worthy to remain, or indeed if they are that poor they should be replaced by the equivalent side from the Championship...
to me it's plain wrong that Brighton could technically have had a crack at going up, without Norwich having a 'say' in it.

How about this.
If it's set in stone 3 go down..as in all divisions.
Then it should be automatic 3 up !

Cellino & Leeds United !
I reckon this guy will do it for you Ken. These '7 players released' + a good few youngsters too. To save 3 mill on the wage bill. Way to go. It's all too easy for a lot of these players imo.
It has to be more realistic.
Seriously, I reckon this bloke is going to restore LUFC back into the prem as an established side..he understands the 'emotion' of the situation, & has deduced the potential of pent up annoyance & frustration of this One club, huge city demographic.
He's there to make a bucket load of money, & LUFC being back in the Prem is how he'll do it.
4 season on season improvements - you'll see.
Blackpool ..deep in it now.

Fair enough Darn, there's enough support for your argument, however, applying the same principle, there isn't much "yo-yoing" between League 2 and the Conference, so would finally be good to see 3 up from that league, sure you'll agree with that

Regarding Leeds, I've no opinion as yet, will wait and see for now, although lots of differing opinions flying about at the moment.

Back to non-league, or should I say football League and Cambridge win the playoff final, have to say they deserved it, as the gap between them and 3rd would have been much bigger had it not been for them having nothing to play for the last month or so. Right from the start they led the way and have now registered a 2nd win at Wembley this season.

I hold my hands up here Ken & admit, I'm a lower league 'conference' football convert.
I've watch 5 games straight from the season end & enjoyed every one.

Difficult to 'nail it'..Not sure if it's the continual mistakes that add to the excitement, The wild ambition of some of the intended play, The aggression, the sportsmanship at the end ...on & on it goes,
But all rolled into one it works for me

Cambridge were good weren't they, Very hard to break down as Halifax found to their cost.
Yes. Definitely worth to go up, They were in effect having to prove themselves twice.
I felt sympathy for the Gateshead defender Curtis though. 10 year loyalty, 506th appearance, (altered his wedding day !) ...& Mills sends him up as an attacker with minutes to go, And his header goes inches wide in the last minute
How would you feel....

The two posted 'topics' !
Madness.
I have no answers ken
I just don't know.

I do find it beyond strange though....how violent sports Like cage fighting, Boxing, & rough team sports ..Rugby etc Don't attract these mentally ill characters.
Why Football ?

Mind you, I wouldn't mind nicking a set of body Armour of one of those Cypriot cops !!! Great piece of kit for when I'm out riding in the Bush
(it would be well used )
