Your opinions (No petty arguments)

Hi guys,

Following today's Grand Prix (and an unusually thrilling one to be produced from Hungary), I'd like to hear the straight forward views you all have on the events that transpired from today's action.

Now obviously being a Hamilton fan I am over the moon with the drive he produced, given the Hungaroring's lack of overtaking nature, as good as I think Hamilton is, I did not expect him to get higher than 7th place and I was certain Rosberg was going for a sure win.

So now I have that out of the way, I was massively impressed with Ricciardo and Alonso today, Ricciardo showing the he is worthy of Red Bull and promising to be a future World Champion, something Mark Webber will be happy about after the circumstances of 2010-2014 with Red Bull and his public troubles with Sebastian Vettel. Alonso was in a class of his own with his ability to put that Ferrari onto the podium, the third time Ferrari have been on the podium since Brazil last season!

Regrettably I have to touch upon the "conspiracy theory" of Mercedes, and I do have to admit that though I don't believe in the conspiracy - after all, mechanical issues aside, the pit-stop issues were there at McLaren too, they happen to every driver at some point - but it is worth noting that apart from Silverstone and less importantly, Canada, the issues do seem to crop up on Hamilton's car a lot more often than Rosberg...

Onto relatively irrelevant news, I do hope Susie Wolff is given a chance at a race seat before 2016, she has paved the way for a revolution in Formula One for female drivers, not just by herself but the late Maria De Villota and other successful lady's stories in motorsport such as Danica Patrick! I personally want to see this chance given.

Final subject I want to hear opinions on, is the raw speed of Formula One. There is no doubt that the 2014 "power trains" have the capability for higher top speeds, and sound aside, I love that! What concerns me is why the FIA are trying to slow Formula One down, I watched the GP2 qualifying on Saturday, and the times were dreadfully close to Formula One... I think I saw a qualifying time of 1:26 or so, now my opinion is that is Formula One is to be the pinnacle of motorsport, it should be the fastest and most exclusive rank of sport in the genre! why slow it down when it has been proven in the past that technology can make these cars faster; Exhaust Blown Diffuser, Double DIffuser, Flexi-Wing, F-Duct to name a few outlawed tactics of making the cars faster.

Your views are welcome but I don't want any petty, personal or irrelevant remarks or comments made on the post, lets keep it on the action we all enjoy watching on a Sunday! Thanks guys.

Webber was allowed to race Vettel in 2010, after narly winning the title, they decided not to try that again.

Even Markk Webber said and I qote after winning at Silverstone "not bad for a number 2 driver."

I think it is time Redbull apply the same tactics and spport their number 1 driver, Ricciardo

maybe we all missed malaysia 2013 when vettel was told to let webber thru

Vettel was not told to let Webber through in Malaysia 2013

============

It depends, we have noticed recently that the Mercs have had reliability issues and Ricciardo is roughly 82 points behind Rosberg. Not that much of a gap considering we have a few races on the horizon where dodgy weather could cause crashes (Spa, Interlagos) and a street circuit in Singapore where both mercs could take themselves out battling for position.

I'm not surprised Ricciardo's beating Vettel, I kind of expected it as I never bought into the hype. You could always see through Seb's "championship" years what happened when his car was not on pole and he had to race others.

The ease with which he is doing it though is surprising.

or rather vettel was told not to pass webber which amounts to the same thing
------- yeh that really reeks of vettel being sole no 1 there

I get the feeling Red Bull were worried the whole thing might go all "turkey" on them
