TNA Reportedly Has Another Network Lined Up, Spike TV Wants Out of Pro Wrestling, More
By Marc Middleton
Aug 24, 2014 - 10:31:21 AM

- We noted earlier this week that there's a feeling going around the TV industry that Spike TV will not be keeping TNA's Impact Wrestling after this year and that their current negotiations aren't serious.

This has reportedly been known by some people close to Spike as far back as May. Spike TV reportedly wants out of the pro wrestling business, meaning they won't be buying their own company or looking to buy TNA, which has been rumored. TNA has apparently been considered a lame-duck product.

The impression is being given now that TNA has a new home to go to but it's not a major network. Spike is still willing to let TNA stay on a short while after the end of this year, possibly week to week, until a new network picks TNA up. There is still no date of cancellation for TNA on Spike but the one point that keeps being brought up is how Spike is willing to work with TNA while they transition to another network.

TNA Reportedly Receives Offer from Another TV Network, Reaction from TNA Officials
By Marc Middleton
Aug 25, 2014 - 11:02:18 AM

- We noted over the weekend that the impression was given by TNA sources that the company had been offered a new home on a new network that wasn't as big as Spike TV. According to Raj Giri of WrestlingINC, Discovery Network's VELOCITY channel has offered TNA a timeslot. VELOCITY is only in 48 million homes and is available in HD only.

Giri adds that the biggest issue with this deal would be the rights fee, which is less than a quarter of what TNA is currently getting from Spike TV. The deal may not be worth it if TNA can't find an additional revenue stream.

TNA officials are relieved that they have another suitor but they are disappointed in the offer that has been made. They also hope that this will lead to other potential partners contacting them soon.

TNA will stick around until they decide to flat line it themselves. They still draw enough of a weekly rating to be picked up by someone.

The only way they'll disappear will be if Vince decides it's his humane duty as a wrestling fan to give Dixie and co a respectable offer to take and run, despite the fact TNA has no value to WWE what so ever. Unfortunately he's too good a businessman to do something so charitable, and quite frankly stupid.
