Derby 2 - 0 Chesterfield

Unfortunately View is still reeling from the travesty that was last week's long anticipated Derby Day, so this heralds the return of the true heir to the match threads.

I'd like to begin with sending my commiserations to Mojaca, who will devastated about the fact that Mrs Brown did indeed win a National Television Award - but really Moj, if you would just embrace that Mrs Brown is hilarious, you could spare yourself all this pain...

It's Derbyshire Day today (slightly less anticipated yet still exciting sequel to Derby Day) and I feel as if all of us Rams are united in one common thought: please let's not embarrass ourselves. A week ago I wouldn't have questioned our ability to win this match, but last week's display has shaken me to my very core

Chesterfield are very up for this: they have nowt to lose and a few reckon they could tip the scales in their favour, especially after the second half of last week's game. However, Derby had better win seeing as I have a bet going with my R.S teacher who claims that Chesterfield might just have the edge, especially if Sam Morsy is playing...

Derby are going into the game off the back of a setback against the dogs and McClaren has warned the side not to take Chesterfield lightly. Could new signings Albentosa and Warnock make their debut for the Rams in this match?

Will Hughes return to the side after his injury last week??
Could Chesterfield sneak a fluke goal that wins the match??
Will my R.S teacher get into a fight, lose our bet, and have to wear the Derby scarf for a week??

Find out in a few hours in the long awaited grudge match:

The reason why Chesterfield hate Mansfield so much is down to 2 things....
1...they have been in the same division a fair few times.
2...The main reason....its down to the miners strike in the 1980's. All out pits and miners went on strike.....Notts miners didn't. We had Notts miners coming over the border and working Derbys pits....I've got 2 uncles....1 worked in a Derbys pit and went on strike...the other worked at a Notts mine near Kirkby and worked thro' the strike....altho' he never worked a derbys pit during the strike. These uncles never spoke to each other again.
I've been to fair few Chesterfield v Mansfield games over the years and Derby v Forest games are no way near as nasty.

The Derby fans that came into the telegraph pub and started throwing glasses at the chesterfield fans need locking up. There were a few kids including mine in there mixing with friends and family who are chesterfild fans without any issues until these idiots came in and ran behind the police for protection....Derby seem to have a fair few thick fans

Heb, as I know you are a dedicated student of the Match Thread, and never stray far from it, even as you address the haggis, I just wanted to wish you a happy Burns Night.
