Where were you?

Getting excited about next week. Haven't looked forward to one of our games sine 1985. Wembley 0-0. Easily my favourite NI game.

So anyway. Few drinks tonite......3-2 v spain. Where were you?

I was In Denver airport following BBC live text. alone. Da and brother were in a van in death valley. BBC updated. I texted the family. Christ! When that Healy lob went in, even though none of us seen it, there was a fool on his feet screaming in the departures lounge and an SUV careering off the road into a desert.

Et toi? Toor? TBBAB? Others?

Bring on the Romanians!!!

By far the best game was when we beat Spain in 1982 on their home patch.
What a fortnight we had, staying in Salou and going to the first 3 games.

Will never forget it, great memories.

I was too young for the spain game. Vivid memories of my da screaming down the house, but that's about it. Big Alan McDonald ready to take on all comers in 85 though, that's a different matter

Almost there! Rickety stadium ready to crumble under the Windsor roar!!??

It was a Healy hat trick wasn't it?

Very special goal the one, remember watching the highlights and enjoying the game hugely!

Thats the one SAF. Outsprinted Puyol and lobbed Casillas from 30yds for the winner.

3rd in the group. Missed out on qualification because we lost home and away to bloody Iceland though

TBH there is every chance the playoffs would have ended in heart break anyway but it is annoying you didn't even get the chance.

Beat Spain and then lose to Iceland at home, typical of some of the home nations (always cheer on their WC and EC qualification campaigns, cheering on the Welsh tonight! )

No playoffs that year. Top 2 went through. I remember watching Sweden v Spain in the knock out stages that year thinking about how we'd beaten both of them in qualifying

Well... that really is a shame then.

If it makes you feel any better I never thought Wales would get to an international tournament but it actually looks like it might happen, just need a Bale to come through or something...

Slightly disappointing not to beat Romania tonight would've pretty much put one foot into qualification.

However Faroes away next not that easy considering how they have done the double over Greece, but I think NI should have enough.

Hungary at home looks to be shaping up to be a huge tie since they are now in the three-horse race.

Still think NI will qualify and Hungary will end up in third.

Lafferty

Would've taken a point prior to the game but the way the Finland v Hungary game panned out and then that miss......so close.

Faroes is a must win
