Jason Denayer

In amid all the Sterling news, I notice that you've extended Jason Denayer's contract on a five year deal.

In my opinion that's an excellent piece of business from you guys. Denayer was a very good defender for us and has a big future in the game, he has just broke into the Belgian national team and I think if you give him a run of games then it could be surprising what a good defender you already have on your hands.

Good luck for the season.

Cheers Marcelino. I rate Denayer highly and judging from the contract he's just signed, so do the club. This will be his break through season at City. At least I hope so.

On a different note, who is this Nicky Law's poster? I've seen a few of his comments on the City board recently and he comes across as an immature kid who seems to have a problem with City.

Probably one of those posters who supports City as a second team I guess.

We have to have 8 home-grown players in our CL squad so I imagine Jason will automatically be included in that.

I also imagine Delph would have been a shoo-in as well for our annual games against Bayern Munich and Barcelona, which is why I'm surprised he plumped for potential relegation battles against Norwich and Bournemouth instead.

No problem with Delph's decision. Can totally understand it. He know's he's not good enough to hold down a regular place at City, and he wants regular football. I don't want us to sign players just to boost our home-grown quota. There's no long term gain in that.

I, for one, applaud Delph's decision. He made the right one for him.

Time will tell, Ripley. I think he showed a lack of ambition.

Maybe he fell for the 'Sinclair and Rodwell' hype, someone should have pointed out that we had 6 England regulars playing in our 2012 title winning squad.

If Delph doesnt have the confidence in his ability,he absolutely made the correct decision
I wish Lee Bradbury had reached a similar judgement many moons ago

I think he did fall for that Boris. Understandable in all honesty.

I do think that Delph was a "quota signing". I do rate him though, but I respect his decision.

Fair play to him I say, he has to do what's right for him.
