£35m for Goetze?

Question: Did we get a £35m bid rejected, or did we bid and Dortmund said 'Nah, if you want him it's £35m, not the bid you've done'.

Because: He looks incredible, and fully worth 35m. I mean, he's twice as good as someone bought for that price, andy carroll, and that signing would have spurred on the Arsenal fans so much.

On the other hand he probably would have gone to Barca in 2015, but yeah, swings and roundabouts.

Knowing Wenger he would have offered 2GBP plus a bag of Wotsits.

How about that great England Centre Half Cahill, opened the scoring for England.

No way did we bid 35 million for anyone. Wenger says he can do it if he wants but he's clearly lying. This was our most desperate moment but still we don't break that tiny transfer record of 15 million!

Jurgen Klopp has built a fantastic team at Dortmund, who deservedly were crowned champions of the Bundesliga. Ive watched this team many times, Goetze is worth every penny of £35mill

Dortmund have a great stadium, fanatical support ( a regular 80,000 at every home game) now in the Champions League, he's happy in Germany, a hero
in the city, has great players around him, a superb manager, a salary he's happy with, and every chance of continued medals and trophies. Why would he want to move?

Is he on same level as Wilshere?

I think we bid about £20m for him, but Dortmund's asking price was €35m - euros not pounds, so about £28m in english money.

No Dortmund and the player didn' want to go. He says he'll stay there for atleast 2 more yrs. I hope its either to Arsenal, or to another country. If he sounds that good, I'd hate it, if he joins a rival PL club.

I would say in this current market Wilshere is worth the same, so I'm guessing they're both on similar level?

Exchange rate is almost 1 to 1. Goetze would cost like £34.3m

Still, completely worth it. He's incredible.

------------------------------

That's the exchange rate, not the actual value of a Euro to a pound. €1 = £0.88 (roughly), so €35,000,000= £30,800,000
