Kovalev v Ward preview

Huge fight this weekend

Whats guys predictions on this, how do they see the fight panning out etc..

For me i think it will be a Ward victory, should be a points win but (and I dunno why cos there is no genuine explanation) but I think Ward might stop him?!?!?!

Couple things iv picked up on...there is no difference in height between them and Kov only has a 1" reach advantage (I was suprised at this thought it might have been greater) It means that I dont think Kov will have that much of an advantage with his straight shots. I think Ward is the better inside fighter and is where this fight might be won. Got a feeling that Ward will be up in the fight and Kovalev might start getting a little desperate due to the smothering work Ward is known for. Kov will get undisciplined and get caught clean by Ward.

A lot might be down to the ref also, will he let Ward do his usual "spoiling" and a lot of the technically illegal work he can be good for?

Then again Kov is a concussive puncher, and definitely capable of scrambling Wards head with one punch.

I dont think it will be a war or anything of the such, Ward controls range very well and will stop that from happening i think.

Opinions guys......

There were some close ones but there were enough early on which Kov won clearly, include a 10-8 in that and it is hard to come up with a Ward victory.

Just for the sake of arguements sake here is the official compubox round by round stats of the fight. This is only a reference to the fight it by no means tells the whole story but defo highlights somethings make of it what you will....Except you D4, you can just spin it to suit your agenda regardless of how contradictory it may make your previous points......

It shows that in total Kov landed 10 more punches than Ward in the whole fight however landed 13 more punches in round 2 alone.....It shows far more accurate and effective work in terms of total punches thrown.

No point debating with D4. He still thinks Pacquiao beat Floyd ffs

The actual punches landed prove it. It is all recorded for everyone to see.

Shocking to hear the commentators say a Floyd punch landed when the video evidence clearly says something different. And shocking for them to ignore all Pacquiao's scoring blows, and praise Floyd's cheating.

Round 10 of Kov Ward is a stinker for the judges. Kov takes the round easily, but somehow all the judges give it to Ward.

Obvious the fix was in

so I take it you dont need to watch fights then?

you just look up the "punches landed" stat and that tells you the winner?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not the stats, but watching the actual punches landing.

Because Pacquiao through in flurries, most people missed his landed punches. And just because Floyd shakes his head doesn't mean the punches didn't land. Seemed to fool the casuals though.
