The N.E.P & Our Next Coach

The Evening Post is writing some right tosh, concerning potential Monty replacements. The two favourite story lines concerning Oscar Garcia presently managing Red Bull Salzburg and Nigel Clough back at Burton Albion. They actually contradict their own article by stating Salzburg have denied any official approach by the club! Neither do I see NLN leaving Burton before the end of the season and I would think less of him than I do already, if he did.

The only realistic candidate who might well come to the club in our present situation is Dougie Freedman, assuming Al-Hasawi can stomach to eat just a tiny morsel of humble pie and at least pretend to be contrite in his approach.

He is the perfect candidate for a relegation struggle; knows how to play defensive football and make his teams hard to beat. Will improve our horrible disciplinary record and will have an eye on suitable midfield players and strikers with potential to do well at Championship level.
He is out of a job since leaving the Red's, what's not to like?

He never really had a chance before due to the Transfer Embargo. He would at the very least keep us up and might well be prepared to return under a short term end of season type deal?

Dougshit

We have to remember that any manager who works under Fawaz will be hampered and our players seem to easily lose faith and down tools.

I wouldn't have the urge to go back to any of the though for sure.

It just all feels a little pointless, part of me couldn't give a stuff as long as it isn't a club destructive manager like Davies. We need to rebuild post Fawaz

Good point Len; I wouldn't want to argue with Einstein.

But I thought Dougie did a good job, under difficult circumstances, and I would be OK with him back in charge.

The other option I am OK with is Kenny Jackett.

Whoever does take over will have a near impossible task though. I can't see us spending any cash this window; just freebies and loans. It seems clear the Al Hasawi family has cut off the cash supply and the club is being financed from player sales.

I think there is a strong chance that Gaz and Jack will get the job until the end of the season.

I think you're right with the Al Hasawi cash, a number of things seem to point in that direction. The fact he and some of his inner circle talk about him wanting "his" money back and the activity the last transfer window, for starters.

If you are going to run a club to break even or maybe make a profit. The wage bill would need reducing, then every single opportunity to bring money into the club would need to be set-up. We'd need to have VERY careful recruitment, a wage structure and be able to maximise money from sales, all the time while giving the chance to add to the team for a bit first. There also couldn't be a high turn over of staff.

So for me, you either believe that the family will pump money in. Or it's a choice between eventual admin or him finding a buyer ASAP.

I don't think anyone but Fawaz is deluded enough to think he can structure and organise the club to levels to achieve that without rapidly going backwards (and losing money anyway on relegation), surely?

Add into that; average attendance has dropped by 3-4k and I think that leading up to this is only not plummeting rapidly due to ST holders. And it will when renewals come around if he hasn't left

I remember Feckwit saying to be careful what you wish for in response to the first signs of online abuse.

Looks like Forest are finding out what that is now.

Never mind the next coach; we're still waiting for the finance director we were promised "in a few days" and a chief exec next week.

You don't suppose he would bring back Lalou Tifrit dou you?

I'd have thought the CEO would have been involved with bringing in a new manager, and then the new manager could raid the transfer market.

Is there time before the window closes? Thought not - Nice timing Fawaz, you keep that £13 million in your pocket.

Presume you all say this, sums up our current limbo like status perfectly

The Nottingham Post have been glossing over things at times, at others actually acting almost like a mouth piece for Fawaz and on rare occasions will put up a Baz or opinion piece that's more cutting. Baz's latest one was a very good summary to be honest and what local media should have been doing for a while.

I thought with Paul Taylor that it might be his bosses that are holding him back but considering things lately, I think a lot of it is just him. He's said in the last two web chats that Fawaz's heart is in the right place and he cares for the club. I strongly disagree with that due to all the people being trodden on over the years and also everything is about Fawaz, not the club. I suspect the Notts County supporting local correspondence is slightly deluded about Fawaz on one hand, but also playing it safe on the other due to the previous press ban and later Fawaz getting angry about direct quotes they published

The nationals have put a couple of bits out about things behind the scenes lately, they broke the late wages things on at least two occasions and there has been other. How are these things where some have clearly been leaked for the club going to the nationals first. It's not as if the fortunes of a struggling second division club are going to be high up in their priorities for column space is it? Whereas local media, it's one of their main and you'd suspect that leaks would have at some point, also gone to them.

I think we have needed them to spill more, be in the middle maybe a bit more; but they've let us down. Paul should be moved to Notts coverage and Baz as someone with a bit more of an edge and passion, put as chief for nffc sport coverage

Everyone knows tails is a County fan and for me he simply doesn't care enough (or at all) about Forest, or our plight and his only concern is staying in with Fawaz so he can lazily get access for the odd interview. He has memories of the Davies media ban and is actually a lazy journo so he prefers the easy life that limited access to Fawaz gives him, half his articles are just reposts of twitter gossip. He / they have shamefully given Fawaz a free pass, asked little or nothing of him, and have offered zero critique of the Al Hasawi direction they're taking the club. Even this week he's trying to spin more Fawaz love-in nonsense, they simply dont care or are purposely ignoring the fan rage for their own selfish purposes.

Not too mention the ridiculous deranged 'anonymous' alias he used in the NEP comments section of 'Positive Paul' back in the day which is common knowledge was Paul Taylor!!

I don't know about that Len, used to big up his own work?

I wonder if he does that in the web chats as there always seems to be a comment put up about the stick he gets for a no win position or along those lines.
