Leeds Utd v Sutton Utd Matchday Thread

So, it's off to wherever Sutton is for the Travelling Faithful, GPS set and off you go (apparently it's 222 miles from Leeds in a southerly direction )
GM say's we'll not be complacent but I think ,on paper we should progress, on a 3G pitch it might be a different story

Venue..Borough Sports Ground..Date 29th Jan..Kick Off 1400hrs

Team News
Leeds United
Garry Monk is likely to make changes to the side that beat Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

Defender Liam Cooper and winger Hadi Sacko may well feature, but full-back Charlie Taylor (Achilles) remains out.

Kyle Bartley, Liam Bridcutt and Chris Wood are among those who could be rested by Leeds boss Garry Monk.

Sutton United
Sutton welcome back captain Jamie Collins and winger Roarie Deacon, who has scored four goals in his side's run to the fourth round.

That includes a stunning equaliser in their 3-1 victory at AFC Wimbledon in round three.

MATCH FACTS
◾Sutton United have played Leeds once before in the FA Cup, losing 6-0 in 1970.
◾Leeds have progressed from nine of their past 11 ties in the fourth round, losing to Liverpool in 2000-01 and Tottenham in 2009-10.
◾Sutton are the lowest-ranked team left in the competition.
◾In the fourth round, the last team from a league below Leeds to knock them out was Oxford in January 1994 - Leeds have won their past five fourth-round ties of this ilk, most recently in 2002-03 against Gillingham.
◾Sutton have never gone further than this stage, losing 6-0 to Leeds in the fourth round in 1970 and 8-0 to Norwich in 1989.
◾Leeds have won six of their seven FA Cup ties against non-league opposition, losing only to Histon in 2008-09.

I don't expect a walkover and the FA Cup is famous for it's upsets but I think we might just manage to overcome Sutton and progress, I'm going for 1-3 Scoreline with Sacko getting a Hat-Trick

tbh I'm not that fussed, as much as I respect the FA Cup we are in with a chance of getting our club back where it belongs and with the lack of depth in the squad I think it would be hard to fight on two fronts
Last thing we need is replays and extra games.

$hit performance, $hit atmosphere, $hit result.

Too many untested youngsters started for us, agree with Lubo, midfield wasn't functioning, Douk didn't get into his stride, every 50/50 decision given against us, Sutton's big waddling heavyweight got away with all sorts

I don't understand why we didn't just start Vieira. What did we gain from him being on the bench?

Right, he did what I always say he does. The spectacular well but makes stupid mistakes that cost you the game.

Think you'll find the penalty was for the trip as silvestri actually won the ball
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Silvestri hadn't been all the way out there then ball would never have run through. People need to realise that he is much worse than Green. He can stay as second choice, but he is not a sound option. Don't think I saw him say one thing to any of his defenders today.
