I've not known a transfer window where the fans of this club have seemingly been so passively accepting that there's not going to be any significant incomings whatsoever (which appears the case for most of our rivals too but we'll see what tomorrow brings I guess) so was prompted to think why this might be this case. Has our current position and run of results lulled us in to thinking we'll be able to sustain a proper challenge this season or that we are the 'real deal' this season and can sustain this (2nd place? title/cup challenge? or at the very least top 4?) for the whole season? This squad depth and quality is undeniably as strong as it's been for years, but how convinced are you that we'll be able to keep this going and don't see the need to invest in this window?

A better question to ask yourself is what position do we need to improve and what players could we realistically get to improve us who could come to us now

We already have a massive squad, the only real possibilities were a short term loan for a midfielder or possibly a RB cover if we got rid of CJ and Debuchy.

Look at the goal threat we have, the sheer amount of MF players, the competition in goal, and the players we have available at the back.
who could Arsenal sign, in January, that would improve what we have here?

There was some suggestion (probably nonsense admittedly) of Benzema which Wenger dismissed out of hand.
I guess ultimately it comes down to what people are satisfied with and we'll have to wait until the season end to find out. If (worst case scenario) we are pipped to 4th by Utd or City and Spurs finish ahead of us this season (biggest threat of this happening in years) will anyone look back on this inactive window with any regret?
