Portsmouth v Birmingham

A tight game, which neither got to grips with early on and was quite scrappy, Birmingham got a scrappy goal in 27 minutes as just a high ball through to Vardy, his touch was awful but it went straight to Mertens who smacked it home, Portsmouth got into the game in the second half and began to take control and two quick fire goals from Lewandowski(54) and Martial (60) put them in the lead and they held on for a good win which leaves Birmingham fighting near the bottom

Portsmouth 2 -1 Birmingham

Lewandowski(Martial 54), Martial(Ghoulam 60)
Mertens(Vardy 27)
MOTM - Martial

Hull v Wolves

Another tight game with vital points needed for both as they scrap away, and this was a scrap, not one for faint hearted as tackles flew in from either side and the ref busy with his yellow cards, Welshys young guns stood up today when it mattered most and scored late on through Milik after sub Keita made an immediate impact, taking the ball and driving on a lay off to Milik and he buried it for the winner

Hull 1 - 0 Wolves
Milik (Keita 81)
MOTM - Dahoud

Spurs v Man Utd

A bit of adventure shown today from the home side against an ever improving Utd but are still hugely low on confidence, season probably cant come quick enough for them, they started very brightly tho as Spurs were very slow out the traps today, 2 goals from Morata set up by Silva put them 2-0 up at half time and deservedly so. Half time came and went and so Spurs came out fighting, Kante and Matic dominating midfield and the wingbacks pushing further up. Lukaku got his first as Barkley played him in on 62 then assists by Coleman and Garcia on 68 and 83 pushed them into a 3-2 lead after a very controlled second half

Tottenham 3 - 2 Man Utd
Lukaku x 3 (Barkley 62, Coleman 68, Garcia 83)
Morata x 2 (Silva 21, 35)
MOTM - Lukaku

Villa vs Newcastle

Two of my favourite teams going toe to toe at Villa park, I really like Villa’s front four and 2 CM’s but there’s just something about that back-line I don’t like individually they’re all decent but, I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s because they’re not as good as the attackin players respectively?
Tranq’s side is strong all over, top keeper, solid at CB, 2 FB’s that complement each other a strong midfield and arguably the best forward in the business. Both sides lining up in a similar fashion and pretty much cancelled each other out as it often the case when the big sides line up. But ultimately for me the away side copes better defensively and we’re it not for the lost slot could have a very different result

Villa 2-1 Newcastle
Ibra x2 (Robben, Modric)
Suarez (ADM)

MOTM -Radja

Chelsea vs L’pool

Potential title decider here in the west end, Chelsea have recovered well from an indifferent start and have finally cracked their hoodoo against a 3 man defence, wonder how they’ll get on against an 8 man defence
all joking apart I really like the way LSTD has set his stall out – crowd the final 1/3 of the pitch and block off the passing lanes as well as the spaces inbetween the lanes, could work very well but needs pure discipline to execute it properly and have to be clinical up-top when the chance arises, my problem with this brand of Tik-italia is that it gives the opposition the impetus to attack, and Fan’s front four really does have that little bit of everything, his midfield looks stronger with Arturo in there over Modders as well – for me Liverpools defence isn’t quite there enough to play that role against that front four but with their front 3 they’ll always be a danger on the counter

Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool

Aguero (Alli) Neymar (Biscuits)

PEA (Griezmann)

MOTM - Vidal

Leicester v Arsenal

A game that Leicester came into as favourites with their title push still on despite a mid season wobble of some sorts. They played a very positive game today with a front three that was enough to give any defence nightmares for weeks and it was looking like a game changer today as they opened Arsenal up far too often, which lead to a lot of fouls from the cheating Italians, Chiellini the master of the art in particular making up for some more shoddy attempts from those around him to make sure Hazard and Costa went down and stayed down. Despite this Leicester's added creativity in the form of Verratti was a real bonus, he was able to feed the forwards the ball quickly into dangerous positions before Arsenal could get the foul in and it was no surprise that the goals were made and scored by the front three. At the other end Arsenal on the break were able to cause problems of their own, mostly from Hamsik and Marchisio's good movement to stretch their opposition out and force CBs to come towards them. The wingers for Arsenal came up against two FBs that they had the beating of with their trickery, however the end product just wasn't there, especially from Zaha and Higuain was often left isolated. A good game and somehow Arsenal clung onto a point despite Leicester's superiority, but it took two long range strikes from Marchisio and Hamsik.

Goals:

Leicester: Ronaldo(Douglas Costa) 31, Hazard(Douglas Costa) 62
Arsenal: Hamsik(Allan) 45, Marchisio(Hamsik) 72

MOTM: Douglas Costa - He and his team deserved the win today and were unfortunate not to get it, he was a constant menace.

Man City vs Stoke

big game this in the race for mid-table security, City come into it with 5 losses and a single win from their last 6 games, whilst stoke have 2 wins, 3 losses and a draw, The away team carry the form into this game but City’s home advantage levels that out.
They say styles make fights and this 4-1-4-1 vs 3-4-2 is pretty intriguing, I feel Stokes two DM’s would ordinarily provide an effective shield against most sides but with City going with 2 more attacking midfielders it squares it up nicely – The biggest weakness for me in a side with 3 at the back is lack of width, I think City would get a fair bit of joy out-wide, Schneiderlin has settled in well at Everton and looks a good addition at DM. I really like what Ska is building at the potteries and think in Belotti they have a proper match-winner. Ultimately for me the <redcard> of their star man Coutinho hindered them as an offensive unit
Full time:
City 1-1 Stoke
Icardi (Yaya)
Belotti (Coutinho)
<redcard> Coutinho

MOTM - Schneiderlin
