Week 13

Aston Villa v Leicester

A tough game for both teams as both have fantastic teams, both went at it and Arjen Robben opened the scoring on 17 minutes after a quick one two with Kyle Walker, the game was end to end with shots going in from various angles, Leicester howeer couldn't control the midfield for parts and allowed Villa to dominate possession for a while, however a loose ball by Dembele allowed Hazard to pick up from a ball from Koke, he was brought down by Sokratis which resulted in a free kick just outside the box which Hazard smashed over the wall and into the back of the net.
The second half started brightly, but Kante and Koke just couldn't get a foothold on the midfield, Modric played a good ball out to Walker and again he was provider as he set up Cavani for a tap in at the front post. With Leicester pushing higher up the pitch and Villa looking drained Leicester got there equaliser as sub Douglas was set up after an amazing touch by Ronaldo and the winger put it throught eh on rushing goalkeepers legs, more drama was to come as Kante made a rash tackle just outside the box, a straight red in the refs eyes, the freekick went over tho.

Aston Villa 2 -2 Leicester

Robben(Walker,17), Cavani(Walker,61)
Hazard(FK,33)
Douglas(Ronaldo,79)
Kante
MOTM - Kyle Walker, a constant threat down the right hand side

Wolves v Hull City

A game of not many chances as both teams cancelled each other out for the majority of the game and when chances came the strikers fluffed there lines, neither team were on top for a length of time to make it count and for fans it was disappointing, but for Marky and Welshy maybe a point is useful in the end

Woves 0 - 0 Hull City
MOTM - Lucas Biglia - Stopped Wolves creating much and held Hull together

Stoke v Portsmouth

Stoke came out extremely quick and had a couple fo chances before they eventually grabbed the opener to the surprise of Rooney and most watching, Rashford latching on to a neat Soler through ball on 13 mins, they went at it and Portsmouth were on the back foot afor a good length of time befor e they eventually got to grips with the game but didn't socre until the second half, unfortunately for Stoke the goals came in quick succession, Mertens with 2 and Sanchez with a third in the space of 12 minutes to finally see off the challenge by a club destined for the drop it seems.

Stoke 1 - 3 Portsmouth
Rashford(Soler,13)
Mertens x 2 (O.Dembele, Sanchez, 47,51)Sanchez(KDB,59)
MOTM - Sanchez solely for his second half effort

Everton v Spurs

Fairly straight forward today for the away side as Everton didn't seem to show up

Everton 0 - 3 Spurs
Morata x 3 (Willian, 17, Verratti, 24,56), MOTM - Morata - a true masterclass

Birmingham v Liverpool

A solid performance by Liverpool today as they took 3 points from a good Birmingham side, Dybala on great form and he set up the first for Icardion 7 minutes, they really went for the jugglier today and got there 2nd just before half time, when Phillip drove down the left and picked out Dybala making a run into the box, he picked him out then it was the keeper picking it out of the back of the net for 2-0. Brum settled in the second half as Liverpool eased of a little making it much more competitive with both sides looking for goals, it was the home side who got what turned out to be a consolation, Alump forward by Lafont, a knock down by Llorente and a super hit home by Sterling it was that simple, however too little too late but a good rally by Brum, Liverpool just too good in the first half.

Birmingham 1 - 2 Liverpool
Sterling(Llorente82)
Icardi(Dybala,7), Dybala(Phillip43)
MOTM - Dybala

Newcastle vs Chelsea

Nice game with two sides with very different set-ups, makes for an interesting encounter. I think Newcastle's WB's would struggle against their counterparts but they would get decent support from their Cb's shuffling wide.

Chelsea always have the ability to blow their opponents away BUT they struggled today to get to grips with Newcastle's pacey wingers and with Chelsea's wingers not really the kind to track back, serious questions we're asked of Chelsea's resolve.

all in the fans were treated to an open game of football that was won in the wider areas of the pitch.

Newcastle 3-2 Chelsea
Suarez 3 (Salah,Mane,Radja)
Aguero 2 (Pogba Neymar)

MOTM - Suarez

Arsenal V Brighton

A very open attacking game today between 2 sides struggling for results, with brighton getting a tight win with a late goal against the run of play. Arsneal got out of the blocks quickly, looking to get men forward, and it did cause the brighton defence some problems, the wing backs were able to get some crosses in, and Mandzukic eventually put one away, this was much the case for the rest of the first half, there were a couple of counters for brighton but only one team looked like getting the second goal.

Second half brighton came out brightly, Richarlison managed to dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge around marquinhos to get a bit of a scuffed shot past Buffon, Arsenal made a couple of changed that proved to be their downfall, the bright Mandzukic made way for Simeone, Arsenal were still making chances but the ball was just not sticking to simeone, a cross from rodriguez was cleared by glik, which fell into the path of berardi who was in space as rodriguez appeared to be running back through porridge, romagnoli made a rash tackle berardi hopped over, and played a perfect pass to Falcao who had dropped off from an unaware Rugani. This turned out to be the last meaningful action of the game, and Arsenal Fan TV were left to lament about the substitution which changed the game.

Arsenal 1-2 Brighton
Mandzukic (Rodriguez); Richarlison, Falcao (Berardi)
MOTM: Glik
