Player Championships / Euro Qualifiers.

Another busy weekend on the PDC Tour away from the TV screens.

In the Players Championships Michael van Gerwen dominated.
On Saturday he beat James Wade 6-4 in the final, after wins over Gerwyn Price and Dave Chisnall in semi and quarters.
Wade had earlier beat Rob Cross 6-5, before his semi win over Ryan Joyce.
One of the stories of the day saw Adrian Lewis and Jose Justicia meet again on the oche. No fireworks or drama this time, as Lewis won 6-2.

Sunday saw Corey Cadby reach the final, before losing 6-1 to MvG. Cadby had beaten Gary Anderson 6-4 in the quarters, before defeating Ian White in the semi. MvGs path saw Simon Stevenson and Adrian Lewis among those losing.

With a total of 22 events, the top 64 players will qualify for the Players Championships Finals in November.



In the European Qualifiers - which are for the first two events of the European Tour - James Wade and Adrian Lewis both booked their place in both events.
The events, which see the top 16 in the PDC Tour Order of Merit qualify automatically, will be played late March.

In the first of the two qualifiers, played Friday night, the likes of Steve Beaton, John Henderson, Justin Pipe, Richard North and Wayne Jones also qualified for the European Darts Open in Leverkusen (March 23-25)

The qualifiers for the German Darts Open (31st March - 2nd April) aside from Lewis and Wade included Stephen Bunting, Josh Payne, Darren Webster and Keegan Brown.


It means the likes of Raymond van Barneveld, Rob Thornton, Mark Webster and Robbie Green all missed out.
