Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough Matchday Thread

A Trip to the Riverside for the Travelling Faithful and hopefully a trip back home with the 3 points
Despite Boro being on a bit of a poor run recently i don't expect this to be anything but a tough encounter

Venue...Riverside Stadium...Date...26th Feb...Kick Off 19:45hrs

Team News
Leeds United
Leeds United are hopeful goalkeeper Kiko Casilla and midfielder Kalvin Phillips will be fit to play.

Both players picked up knocks in Saturday's win over Reading.

Boro
Middlesbrough remain without injured trio Daniel Ayala, Dael Fry and Patrick Roberts.

Boss Jonathan Woodgate said that defenders Ayala and Fry should return "in two to three weeks" while Manchester City loanee Roberts' return date is uncertain.

Match facts
Middlesbrough are unbeaten in their past three home league matches against Leeds United (W2 D1) since a 1-0 defeat in February 2015.
Leeds have completed a league double over Middlesbrough in only one of the past 17 seasons the sides have met, doing so in 2014-15.
Across their past three league matches - against the Championship's current bottom three - Middlesbrough have picked up just one point (D1 L2) and have managed just three shots on target, with none of those coming in the past two games.
Since their defeat by Nottingham Forest, Leeds have taken seven points from the last nine available in the Championship (W2 D1), though the Whites are winless in their past four on the road (D2 L2).
Middlesbrough (8.3%) are one of just three teams to have a lower shot conversion rate in the Championship this season than Leeds (8.7%). Indeed, the Whites have had more shots on target than any other side in the division (175), whilst only Luton (100) and Nottingham Forest (112) have managed fewer than Boro (115).

Here we go then, Woody will be looking for his team to put up a fight against us, while we'll be looking to get a rare win at the Riverside, 3 points here for us with a 0-2 scoreline Paddy n Pablo to do the honours

Stoops..

I post a lot on the United boards and you'd be surprised how many of then actually want Leeds back up in the premier league.

Agreed. I go to the local and there are a few in there that want us back. They miss the banter and the fact we are much bigger than the likes of Bournemouth and a few others.

Don’t get me wrong - if you get there you deserve it and those smaller clubs have just as much right as we do.

Ask Doogle who Colin Murray supports and if its the right one it says!..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What team does Colin Murray support?

Murray has been a fan of Liverpool F.C. and Northern Ireland since childhood. He got five stars tattooed on his arm when Liverpool won the European Cup for the fifth time. He has also stated he is a Chester FC fan after falling in love with the club following their rise from closure and fronted by the fans.

- all these years I've thought he was a United fan too...

Used to listen to him on radio one about 15 years ago and scoff when he spoke wasted energy
