Player told he has Covid-19 while in pub.

Portsmouth player Sean Raggett was 'mortified' when told of his positive test for coronavirus while eating in a pub. (The Sun on Sunday https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11225939/portsmouth-sean-raggett-coronavirus-pub/).

Pubs should have been shut down 2 weeks ago.

A mate of mine runs (not owns!) a bar in Leeds.

He had to tell the owners he was refusing to open any more middle of last week because they’d already cut the staff numbers down and the place was filling with complete wreckheads every night getting off their tiiits and fighting each other.

It usually isn’t that kind of place at all and he said he reckoned it had something to do with dealers dumping gear cheaply before they’re no longer able to shift it

Will we have roving addicts going around the streets looking for a hit?

Jokes aside, really feel for your mate, Rosso. The hospitality industry is copping an absolute beating.

I hope your corner of Algarve is okay.

Health-wise we’re fine mate. No cases here as of yesterday. Nobody is moving but delivery drivers.

This thing is going to absolutely destroy the economy here though. It’ll be 2008 all over again.

Algarvean economy is completely dependent on tourism, and the first thing that people cut back on when they have little money in their pockets is holidays.

The next few weeks won’t be a problem; nobody is making any money at this time of year anyway. But if the hotels and restaurants are empty May through October (which, of course, they will be), a lot of people will lose their jobs and homes.

CiC,

Glad to see you back posting again. Noticed the name change. I hope everything is okay. Is the CiUK permanent or back to CiC some day?

China is probably a lot safer than the UK now, so maybe a bad time to have left.

I reckon the Chinese are reporting fake news.

I left before Chinese New Year and started for a short break in the UK to see family. Then the lockdown happened there, so I couldn't go back (I was only meant to be here for just under 3 weeks). And now it's happening here and flights to China, while still happening are either booked to the max due to measures brought in or not flying to certain parts of China.

I'll be honest, I thought us knowing about it in advance would have prepared for it. Our politicians and public have been utterly useless in it. Take the point about the Portsmouth player. He was at a pub. People were still going to pubs and they're (those in the Pub) are blaming the guy when they themselves should have avoided the pub in the first place.
