She got hit on the throat it would have hurt a lot, it's not that unlikely to hit someone when there's line judges and ball boys/girls at the back of the court. No choice but to disqualify him, simple decision in the end.

Rules are pretty clear on this. You can't start changing them to fit a situation just because a player decides to break them and accidentally hits someone.

He should have been warned for the earlier one that he hit much harder in anger.

Djokovic showed his frustration after losing serve to trail 6-5 against Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta.

The Serbian world number one took a ball out of his pocket and hit it behind him, striking the female line judge in her throat.

After a lengthy discussion, he was defaulted by tournament officials.

A United States Tennis Association statement said: "In accordance with the Grand Slam rulebook, following his actions of intentionally hitting a ball dangerously or recklessly within the court or hitting a ball with negligent disregard of the consequences, the US Open tournament referee defaulted Novak Djokovic from the 2020 US Open.

Its a correctly applied punishment, the caaant is always frustrated and angry if shiiiit doesnt go his way, about time they applied the rules to him. Hope he catches some Covid-19 on the way out as well.

I think according to the rules he deserved to be disqualified, even if it is a bit harsh.

I do find these line judges drama queens though. There was one incident with Nalbandian, he was acting like he was 5, showing the whole audience his cut and trying to get sympathy.
