One of those days

Been a mad day.

As my wife was coming out of the house at 7.30am this morning, she saw a guy walking away out of our road casually but didnt clock until a few seconds later that he had got into her car (69 plate A Class). She shouted to me, i was upstairs already working on my laptop. So I ran down, and she told me what happened and I gave chase down the road but he'd gone.
He nicked her purse (old cards in it) and the alloy wheel nut and some change.

We got some CCTV from the neighbours. He was covered up head to toe but wearing some recognisable clothing. He got into 2 other cars as well but couldnt get them to start. We live in a cul-de-sac so he went furthest in 1st and made his way out. He first comes onto the street at 6.40am, then leaves. And then returns again at 7.10.

Anyway, filed the report to the police and have sent them what they want.

Then this evening my missus gets a call from someone around the corner saying her purse and all its contents was found in their carport drive.
Only when they went through the purse they found a receipt for a flower delivery which had her number on it.
Looks like when i ran after him, he ducked and hid in this drive until id gone. God saved him for some reason. I reckon he dumped everything so that he wouldnt be caught with anything that can incriminate him.

Im fuming. The missus is shook up. There are 12 houses in our cul-de-sac, we've agreed to gate the road up as it is a private road.

When i went to chase after this guy, my missus told me that my boys, aged 6 and 4 cheered and said "Daddys gona beat him up" Im their hero.

And they're right, if id found him, god knows what i would have done. My adrenaline was pumping

Then forget and send one of the kids to fetch something out of the car....

This is why you need a semi automatic .22 hand pistol, preferably with laser sight. You can hurt an antagonist - literally take an eye out - without having to get within striking distance. Also, you should’ve got in the car to pursue him, much better chance of catching him up than on foot. And, why did your missus leave her purse in the car overnight? Never do that.

I used to live on a private cul-de-sac and one night some slag set some device that blocked all the vehicles central locking signals, meaning the cars were all left unlocked. They can back early hours and ransacked every car, got away with my RayBans. They must’ve been small timers though as not a single car was half inched, just whatever contents they could find.

Most break ins these days are for car theft. I always leave my car keys downstairs overnight. If someone is gonna be that determined to break in I’d rather they just took the motor than went looking for the keys with my kids in the house. That’s what insurance is for.

As if you own a car

One of my cars alone is worth more than your squalid, cockroach infested bedsit you facking vulgar mentally feeble peasant.

Even if you own car, no one will piiss on it let alone steal

Where abouts do you live mate? Glad noone got hurt etc.

How did he break into the car? Smash the window or?

Crazy that people will walk into a cul de sac, that's probably a neighborhood watch area, without a care in the world.

I walk my dogs at midnight, every night and first thing in the morning. I see some right dodgy fkees around at those times.
Both my dogs are 50+kg each, so they make me feel a bit safer but still.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I live in Bedfordshire. No the car wasnt smashed. She has wireless entry to her car so he used some device to unlock the doors.
I've since watched better cctv of the event from another neighbours footage. The guy is very nonchalant in his approach to the cars, hangs around 2mins to the side of my wife's car and then jumps in once it's unlocked. He then gets out and leaves just as my missus comes out. He wasnt in the car more than 40-50 seconds. I'm guessing as he saw the movement near the front door, so bolted rather than getting caught. He wouldnt have known who was coming out, me or my wife.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mental...
Brand new car and some ch av scu m is able to just walk in with ease.
Good thing your neighbors had CCTV? Is crime frequent in that area?
My gf has about 15 cameras around her house. On my house I've got none... Tempted to change that!

The area is average for crime, our street is dead.
All the neighbours are shocked as well becuae it could have happened to them as well.
Have literally emailed the police the cctv footage.
The brazen attitude is just shocking. Literally didnt give a faak
