The club have essentially encouraged a Twitter 'pile-on' and sent loads of sexist abuse the way of Karen Carney. It's not a good look.

But on the other hand, she made the worst and most insulting statement about our club that any pundit has made this year and the club have the right to call that out. All football fans, especially those outside the big six, are used to lazy coverage from pundits who clearly don't watch much of their team. We've heard the burn out, 'can they keep this up?' comments a million times now, but she went a step further. Man or woman, Carney or Gary Neville, I think the club would have called out that comment regardless of who it came from because it was so extreme.

My view - she's taken the job and been well paid for it, she's expressed an insulting opinion on live TV (either she knew what she was doing and was baiting or she's repeating something she's heard elsewhere) and the club have the right to respond and shouldn't give her a free pass because she's a woman. If it was Robbie Savage or someone, no one would be criticising the club.

Agreed. If you dish it out, you've got to be prepared to take the flak. However, the comments she is receiving are not simply a response to her ignorance, are they? We have to accept that there are a number of neanderthals out there who will pile on the sexist and misogynistic rhetoric at the slightest opportunity. Radz was right to apologise straight away. He wouldn't have to do this to a Gabby Agbonlahor or a Robbie Savage, but he recognises that we will not win in a battle against the media, and a battle against gender discrimination.

It should be noted that if AR's tweet has nothing insulting in it he's done no wrong!..

People replying to his tweet have a responsibility to abide by the law and respect others, and anyone being insulting or discriminating its up to the recipient to lodge a complaint and the necessary offices to do their jobs!..

If she feels insulted than she should do/say something about it, but AR feels insulted so if she's being insulting than she deseves whatever comes her way!..

I was angry with her after she came out with her opinion. She probably thinks the moon landings were faked too.

As a follower of our team last season. It was very unprofessional of her as a former footballer and utterly disrespectful of the efforts made by our team, coaches and backroom staff.

Yes - there are a lot of opinions on here, but she spouted her rubbish as a paid professional on live TV in front of an audience of (presumably) mostly LUFC fans. She should have known better and ought to have apologised after the fact.

She should have done her homework. Maybe the clubs media should have not bitten (but they have every right to respond) and definitely some supporters need to give their head a shake.

Bottom line is it won’t do her any harm at all. I bet most people had no idea who the hell she was before her comments. I expect her agent has been busy this week.

Media never admit they get it wrong unless the courts prove they have done. Journos pundits etc, such a bunch of twots who can dish it out, but even when wrong can never accept it back.
