I'm going to pretend last night was all about Operation Get Hamilton Relegated, which is going very well so far. Killie are now five points clear at the bottom and if we can just get Ross County to get another win then we should be rid of Accies and their horrible pitch.

But I'm more concerned about United and last night was stinking.

The only real positive was Meekinson when he came on, and it's always good to see a young lad take his chance when presented, and he impressed on his debut. Young Kerr Smith (16) was given a start too at centre half and hopefully he learned a lot last night against an experienced pro in Lafferty.

Other than that it was dreadful and, while I'm ok with mixing things up ahead of the big game at the weekend, I still expect more from a United team - although I'm starting to question why I expect more after the performances we've endured all season (and for five years before!).

Obviously the trip to Pitoddrie either extends or ends our season. If it ends it then the full focus has to be on next season and that means playing the players who will still be with us. However, if Luke Bolton is in the starting XI on Sunday I'll be making my way along to Pitoddrie to throw things at the manager because that boy offers absolutely nothing. I'm starting to fear that this loan spell won't help Bolton into Pep Guardiola's starting XI when he returns to Man City...

Of course we also need to settle if Mellon will be the coach next year and as was posted the other day, it seems more and more unlikely that he'll be here. Time will tell but it is unsettling, and we really need to do good, focused recruitment this summer to get the key players in to compliment the youth players who need to be given opportunities, particularly in this financial climate (to save on wages and to give them chances to impress so we can sell them).

Anyway, mon the Terrors and all that. Even if my enthusiasm for watching us has completely disappeared now.

Anyway, huge credit for playing young boy especially at CB. My team is playing for nothing and had a chance to do that last night and just played the same scheight that got us here in the first place including a 35yo that is headed to the opposition team. A complete disgrace and now sets the tone for the rest of the top 6 games as putting out the reserves now will pi55 off the Dons.

Message loud and clear to all the young players still at the club - you will not be given any significant chance at 1st team football. Go right through the team and WTF did anyone learn from last night's non-event?

Spot on, Silver.

It’s an utter nonsense the way our team has been “managed” this season, both pre- and post-Lenny. I absolutely wish Broony all the best for his future elsewhere, but why the feck is he still starting games for us? After exiting the SC the remaining dead rubber league games are surely the time time for fringe/youth players to get a run out. As you say, sends out a horrendous message to anybody not featuring at the moment.

BTW last night’s keeper and back 4 must be right up there with the pashest “defence” we’ve ever fielded. I’ll give Welsh a free pass at the moment (altho I doubt he has either the height or pace to make it with us), but the other imposters should have zero future in any rebuild. Jonjo Kenny ... the RB equivalent of donkey Duffy. Seriously limited player.

I'm surprised that Celtic are continuing with players who won't be at the club next season. You'd think now was the time to see who has the mettle to play first team football. Never will you get less pressure on a Celtic team to win than these last few games.

I don't know why anybody would be surprised at the result against Killie.
His team selection was an insult to the supporters. I know we want to see the youngsters get a game but not wholesale away from home.
And listening to his interview - more or less the same as all his other interviews - he mentioned players being outstanding 3 times.

I think we can copy and paste match write-ups now for this United team as it's the same eye bleeding stuff every week, it's just sometimes we get a win, sometimes we get a loss and sometimes we draw.

I can't say i've listened to a word of his post-match interviews since the start of the season. I'm not interested in the guff that he spouts, I only care about the team on the park and what they do, and far too often they fail in every aspect as to what I want to see from a United team.

I do have sympathy with the challenges of the pandemic, but jesus fecking christ it could have been better to watch than this.

Celtic’s attitude will as likely be ‘we’re paying them top dollar, so they’ll play for it”

The only possible explanation might be Pistol demanding they be put in the shop window but that is a high risk strategy given how scheite we've been. No doubt we'll only get speculative offers of £7m for Turnbull in the summer?
