It's a good point. EV's are only part of the revolution taking place.

I'm sure there would certainly be a lot of interest in it.

It's a good point. EV's are only part of the revolution taking place.

I started an alternative to the politics thread the other day Amiga, whilst it's intended as having a pretty board conversation base the chatter so far has mostly been about renewables, so you might find the "Current events" thread interesting (at least thus far)

If you click my name you will see the current events thread, you will have to search a bit for the "Live election thread" because I de-subscribed from the cess pit

over a 1000 comments. If that doesn't show the need for a dedicated section I don't know what does.

EV's, the environment, and future energy are huge topics. A dedicated section would at least allow topics to be broken into sections, instead of the Cess pit as you called it being created.

I have no idea if we will ever see a dedicated section for this stuff, and confused to the reasons why it hasn't happened.

But it really is a hotbed of discussion, that needs some order to it.

However I also see why admin prefers one difficult thread opposed to an entire difficult section of the site

To be fair Insert, from what I have read, you have plenty to add to a discussion, it's a shame they can't be shared in a better way.

I can see no reason why such a section cant be managed. I would love you to explain, what exactly the issues are?

The topics are too wide and varied to be piled into one disorganised thread. It's a shame because there was a lot of valid stuff lost in the noise.

I think you would understand if you followed the live election thread, its very factional, can get very rude and combative, which is why there are two sort of spin off threads. Such as mine which i ensure remains free of abuse.

But i guess that banning people from one thread to prevent them being abusive to one another is easier than dealing with it across multiple threads, you will also have differences of opinions raging across multiple discussions whilst being entwined.

i agree with you, that it would make for nicer, compartmentalised discussions, i just also understand that its a whole forum that would become a hotbed vs a couple of niche threads, some of which are administrated for admin.

Politics is not something I would get involved in. There are too many differing opinions. When it comes to EV's, or the climate, there is a growing consensus that things have to change.

This forum could be a catalyst for that change, if it were allowed to happen.
