Week 3

Newcastle v Leeds

Newcastle have class all over the pitch this season and will be a tough ask for ANY team to get anything from them, especially at St James Park, Leeds came and had a right go and are a formidable opponent

Chiesa and Depay had a lot of joy against the attacking fullbacks of Newcastle and scored through Depay beating Tsmikas down the left and a neat cross was fired in by Kane, Leeds then doubled the lead when Kane was brought down by Dias in the box for a penalty, he took himself and it was 2-0 at the break, Newcastle came out on a mission and it soon became 2-1 as old boy Lewandowski got his firing boots on and blasted home on 50 mins, Leeds were rattled lost their shape a little and Newcaslte took full advantage as sub Llorente played the old cnt in again and he doubled his tally, a game of two halfs as they say on MOTD and a fair result in the end

Lewandowski 2 (Son, 49, Llorente, 80)
Kane 2 (Depay, 23, Pen29)
MOTM - Kane

Wolves 2 - 0 Liverpool

Wolves are what I consider a top team now and must be pushing for a top 4 spot this season, Liverpool Still lacking something imo
Spinazzola had a field day today, bombing up and down the left hand side, forming a very good partnership with Neymar, Spainazzola was played in and rifled home from a tight angle on 34. Wolves were much the dominate team and they went 2 ahead with a trademark Ronaldo goal as Verratti did well in midfield and played him in to round the keeper and finish the game off

Spinazzola(Neymar, 34), Ronaldo(60)
MOTM - Spinazzola

Brentford 1 - 0 Man Utd

Suarez was the match winner today as Brentford continue their fine start to the season v a very youthful Man Utd, Berardi had a good game on the right hand side and it was he who set the winner up, he disposed Sessegnon, drove down the right hand side and fired in a low cross, Suarez nipped in between Gomez and Upamecano, he beat Drag to the ball, rounded him and slotted home, Sessegnon seemed to be a bit miffed by this and the next time Berardi went down the line he blatantly took him out to receive a <red card>, Utd dug deep with 10 men, but Brenford back line stuck to their jobs and managed to keep them at bay

Suarez(Berardi 56)
Sessegnon 63
MOTM - Berardi

Watford vs Chelsea

Watfords home advantage gave them a fighting chance in this game, a boisterous crowd, led from the front by Elton John at Vicarage road, even Fan was on the touchline singing along to rocket man.

I like Watfords 4-3-3, it's well balanced and has a lot of potential in there for a lot of growth, but Chelsea matched them pretty much man for man, and whilst home adv and a good share of the tactics went Elsie's way, the team/bench slots land firmly in Fans lap
(fan not saying your tactics aren't good, but Elsie is one of the best tactians in the league)

Arsenal vs City

I like this clash, 2 different styles and 2 different formations. I like what Jet has done with Arsenal, think the sides well balanced, might be just my reading of the tactics but he sounds like it stifles Barella somewhat and he's a man who needs that bit of freedom really, too shackled in a two where he's told to keep the ball ahead of him, I like the front line, bags of pace out-wide.

City switching to a 3-5-2 is the perfect counter to the swashbuckling style of Arsenal, that's a really strong back-line and with pacey WB's they can hold their own against Arsena;'s wide-men and keep DCL isolated. Kane and Kroos is about as good a twin-six as you'll get and the front-three are all capable, I do like sides with two up top

Spurs vs Lesta

Last years top two meet early doors this season, we have two similar sides in terms of quality, formation and tactical nous.

I like rof's shietehousery in his opening 2.5 paragraphs

I actually really like Rof's tactics and Sterling as a false 9 could work with his pace, but whilst not rapid Neves sitting as anchor is a good counter to that, consistently last season around the top of the interceptions and tackles made charts.

also love TAB's counter shietehousery "We know Rof will try to downplay the effectiveness of Messi and KBD operating in the same space blah, blah"

I honestly never thought I'd see the day where I conside Hazard to be the weak link, and that's all I can say about Spurs.

Gk - Spurs
Back four Lesta
