Wycombe Wanderers v Bolton Wanderers

Another long haul trip today to high Wycombe for the Wanderers derby. After the 5-3 defeat at Stockport and going out of the fa cup in the first round for the 3rd year running a chance to bounce back and restore some pride. With the nature of the defeat, going to extra time and only 2 days break a massive ask for a depleted squad suffering with illness and injury. Also the mental side. Confidence will have taken a real battering and evatt has a big task restoring belief in the players before a run of more favourable fixtures with much less travelling. Only the 3rd fixture between the clubs. Wycombe did the 2-0 double in 19/20 when they were promoted and Bolton relegated and here we meet again. Personally I don't expect that much today against a side that was in the championship last season and are 4th in the league. Ive found some crumbs though. Wycombe haven't won in 6, knocked out of the cup in midweek but didn't play extra time and have an extra days recovery. Another stat. Gareth McCleary seems to be their key player. With him starting Wycombe's record is w8 d3 L2, without w1 d4 L7 and he is still out injured. Team news. A tale of woe. Williams and afolayan have been ill so doubtful today, Sheehan injured his knee and joins Jones, tutte and Brockbank on the sidelines. Doyle could be fit to start. Anyones guess what the side will be at this stage. 3pm ko.

We'll not be able to wear many teams down with our super fitness will we if we run out of players. If there is a plan B to implement I'm not sure we'll be able to cope with the confusion.
Unless the B in Plan B stands for Baldrick and it's a most cunning plan.

Is there anybody out there who is fit and ready to play, must be free and available now.

A week or two ago I said that we had ten games to keep us in contention for a playoff place, that seems to have completely gone out of the window now.

Depending on what happens in January it will be all about survival.

I hope that the work done on finding new players will be productive, otherwise, it may be a very tense few months until the end of the season.

My ambitions midtable and win the pizza cup. Both achievable. I also said put the u21s out v Stockport. Look at the damage that match has since caused.

Our fortunes could go any way, much will depend on what IE does next.

MJ is now out for the foreseeable future according to the BN. We are like the walking wounded. Six weeks ago no one would have predicted this.

Can just about put a decent side out, just but any more injuries before January going to struggle badly. Also no break for these players so extra pressure and possibly more injuries. All 3 right backs injured and down to just 2 midfielders. Well.

I don't think we'll be going without a keeper on the bench tonight.
Be careful at meal times today they are known for accidents and injuries.
