United v Livi

Just watched United versus Livingston. United were gash and deserved absolutely nothing from the game. We've played well at Parkhead and at Tannadice against Motherwell other than that we have been fortunate in the other victories. The defeats have been merited and possibly should have been heavier but for our keeper and defence.

The boy Goldie says United will be producing players of Champions League quality. I'd rather have players that could play for Dundee United first and foremost. The midfield and the forward area is like watching Rabitch, Barton, Lyng, Nicholls, Mikkelson and Shala etc.

Levitt was supposedly back today but got pulled out of the matchday squad. Years ago you would play reserve games and come back gradually. No wonder Scottish football is getting worse. Throwing back players with no match fitness is stuff of disasters.

United proclaim to have this wonderful youth system. Not a patch on Ferguson, Connolly, McKinnon, McLaren, Dailly, Cleland & Bollan. These youngsters were playing reserve football coming up against senior pros. This made them good players. Looking at Appere, Neilson, Glass and Chalmers I see them getting older and not progressing because all this new age pathway route is quite frankly a lot of crap.

Very honest mate but Ivan keeps bumping his gums about OF reserve teams being given experience.

You should pay the Utd players £100 p/w with goal or win bonus of £2000 p/w.

Ah so that's where they transplanted Jim McLean's brain.

Didn't make it to the game on Saturday and I feel like it went exactly as I thought it would - a nothing match that would be decided by a single goal. Sadly for them.

It feels like we're stumbling towards the winter break now and the hope we can get bodies in the door who can help give us some kind of attacking threat. Or at least get McNulty and Biamou fit so we have options.

It's a hard job for the manager now so it'll be interesting to see how he responds. The danger is we start getting used to getting beat.

Yet another poor performance only highlight was glass who was superb but let down badly by his teammates Fuchs stupidity cost us the game instead of a simple pass back to his defender he decides to shield the ball on touchline loses it then gives away the penalty the managers waiting till 4 minutes to go to bring on subs was sheer stupidity Clark and pawlett should have been taken off at half time we need a striker a winger who can actually cross the ball niskanin spends more time in his own half than running down the wing

We are lacking forwards that can put the ball in the net and hold the ball up. I've not been impressed by Clark or Appere however I think it would be better if we played them as a pairing.

Levitt being out is terrible but I'm more annoyed with Fuchs. He clearly wants a move and his performances have dropped off since he was benched at Livingston. I'd get him away the first of January in all honesty. A professional who keeps his standards up and doesn't go to the papers is more deserving of a move.

Why is it that when players take corners they signal with their hands before taking it? Clearly does ****** all. Why if a quick thrown is required they leave it to the fullback? Do fullbacks have a better throw? United at throw-ins would be just better to throw it to the opposition imo. Freekicks would be better put in on top of the keeper. The one when the players all ran away from the ball............

The point about wingers going down the line and whipping in a cross. Can anyone tell me when we had a cross put in with pace that took the keeper out of the equation? I've seen one against us from years ago, Miller whips it in for Laudrup to score for Rangers to clinch 9 in a row. Dykstra no chance with that. Could we maybe have some of this in games? Goals win games all this taking the ball and passing it about doesn't get you three points as we have found out since Hibs away.
