Bolton Wanderers v Wycombe Wanderers

The Wanderers derby tonight the first fixture at the unibol since 27th November which was also the last time Bolton gained a point in the league in a 2-2 draw with Cheltenham. Fast forward from then, 3 away defeats, 3 postponements and dumped out of the efl trophy by Hartlepool taking my first look at the league table it's sobering to realise this is now a relegation battle. Bolton now down to 17th with just a 3 point gap to 4th bottom. Wycombe who have already beat bolton 1-0 are 3rd. This is going to be a tough game. Team news. Long term injured Sheehan, tutte, isgrove. Jones is now fit but unavailable for tonight having played for the reserves today. Since the Hartlepool game Doyle has left the club and gilks returned to full time training duties. No new signings available but reinforcements tonight as Amaechi is cleared to play and Darcy and Hutchinson returned from their loans. Also Lee may be fit after a bout of covid. Kick off 8pm.

What did we do with the players when Lostock was shut, send em home to put their feet up or issue them with training regimes to keep fit.
Could we not afford a couple of tubs of lard and sent them out swimming up and down Jumbles.
Something is up with all these injuries, it's time we got a man or woman in to look at it and put it right, spend the dosh where its needed.

There's a pause in signings, IE must be thinking about it.

James Trafford a City player and a youth international keeper is at the top of Evatt's list to sign on loan.

I don't know how good this lad is but he started his loan spell with Accrington as the first-choice keeper but has now been displaced by Tony Savin.

If we do sign him will he turn out to be another Billy Crelin? Signing young players is fine if the plan is to nurture and progress them in the reserves or youth team but I question if he will be ready to go into the first division first team.

Evatt tried that with Crellin and it turned out to be a disaster. Surely what we need is an established keeper capable of dealing with the rigours of division 1.

I suppose the difference between Crellin and this Trafford lad is their parent club. Hell of a difference between Fleetwood and Man City in terms of youth training.

Anyway we won't really know till we get to see him.

Still a forward and another unspecified position to come in as well.

We need more than a couple more.
How about a couple of hard men and at least one brick outhouse to help out at the back.
Stop the number of shots on target our keeper has to face while we try and get some on target at the other end.

Sounds like Trafford will come in the way evatts waffling on in the Beano. Maybe 2 pivots and a 10 or 8 rather than 1 pivot and 2 8s. That's Williams and Johnston in English and be more compact and give the back 4 some protection. It gets complicated in an evatt world.

We need some points today to help any dithering signings make their minds up.
