Sky analysis agreed with the stewards. Brundle fearing another sky baby Red Bull 👍 .

The key point is that Verstappen admitted he wouldn't make it, but went for it anyway. Last season in the early part Hamilton was backing out of those same situations. It was only when he decided he had enough of it that he stepped up his aggression and started to go toe to toe with Verstappen aggression.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is exactly my point

When you have two drivers that refuse to back down...stuff like this happens

Can blame one all you want...needs two to tango
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hamilton was ahead. Verstappen admitted he
couldn't make it but did it anyway. Conscious decision to make contact. Reckless and irresponsible. Stewards should ask him to explain his comments
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He got the penalty mate...what more are you wanting
Wasn't a conscious effort to make contact....was a conscious effort to try and force his way through a gap, thinking Hamilton might yield or run wide knowing Verstappen was inside

He didnt
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Verstappen said he knew Hamilton would not leave the space. Therefore if was a predetermined conscious decision. He therefore needs to explain why he went for a move that he knew beforehand would result in contact.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So it's all on Verstappen

If Hamilton knows Verstappen is there, and knows he won't yield....why shouldn't Hamilton explain why he closed the door, knowing Verstappen would hit him...didn't he make a conscious decision knowing what the outcome would be aswell

What happened was very close to a racing incident...hence why only a 5 second penalty

It's a two way street mate.....if no driver backs down, incidents like this happen

Problem is that certain Hamilton fans are so used to seeing drivers letting him through over the years - due to having a slower car and risking ruining their own race by fighting a futile battle - that they expect every driver to yield to him and let him do what he wants.

Max was correctly punished. Any calls for harsher punishments is just pure bias.

I am not calling for further punishment, so goodness knows why you brought up.

But after the race Verstappen admitted he knew the move would not work cause Hamilton would not leave the space. I think if a driver knows in advance that a manoeuvre won't work and will in fact result in contact with another car yet does it anyway needs to explain himself. That would be the case in racing or normal driving. No one should be deciding in advance to have a collision. And I am a Mclaren fan, not a Hamiton fan, although I prefer him over Verstappen for sure.

If nothing else I think this race weekend has shown cracks in Max’s persona. He still has a bit of growing up to do

He doesn't have to explain himself

He's a racing driver...an aggressive one
If there is a gap, he will go for it..there was a gap, he knew it would likely close, but he will be going for it anyway...if it means contact, it means contact...doesn't mean putting someone out the race, hurting someone or any of that ..he is putting himself at risk as much as anyone else by going for it.....but it's who he is, it's how he drives

He's a modern day Ayrton Senna, who famously said "the day I no longer go for a gap, is the day I'm no longer a racing driver"...Verstappen is the exact same

He was on the other end of the exact same incident, at the exact same corner, in 2018 when he was leading the race yet Ocon, a back marker looking to unlap himself on new Super Soft tyres, hit the side of him, causing him to spin and lose the lead...Ocon went for the same gap Verstappen did at the weekend

Ffs this is getting very grubby, Horner must be pulling his hair out. One of these drivers might not be at RB for much longer

One of?

It’s a slam dunk that Perez will be handed his P45. When does his contract expire?

They both just signed new contracts

Verstappen the bigger one though...by a huge margin
Think his is until about 2028, while Perez is about 2024

Well that clears that up then

Honestly, I thought these racing teams and drivers paid fortunes to communication/pr companies for advice and strategy
