Yeah but it wasn’t because of their defence. They tried their best to throw away leads against Australia, Netherland and France. But even then, international tournaments aren’t indicative of the ability of a player to consistently perform at the highest level.

I know some of your fans like to have a pop at Lloris but he’s a far far better keeper than Forster

Indeed. And we will find with lots of potential GKs, whilst Lloris has made 5 errors or so this season leading to goal, he saves shots that lots of GKs simply don’t have the ability to. Lloris would’ve prevented two of this goals today imo.

Agreed. Really bad. Barnes absolutely rinced him in the first 5 minutes but he does have something going forward. He is abit small too.

He didn’t really have to do any defending at Sporting. His role didn’t require it.

Going forward he was gravy; but if Conte needs to rely on him to look after left wingers or inside lefts, well, good luck with that.
