Bolton Wanderers v Fleetwood Town

2 to go. A repeat of the last home match of last season. Then Fleetwood were the side under pressure needing a win to stay up, Bolton were coasting in mid table and with a side including 7 of today's squad Bolton won comfortably 4-2. Fast forward to a year later given one day the roles are reversed. Fleetwood with ex wanderer Josh Vela in their side are the side coasting in mid table and Bolton the side under pressure for a win. Despite the x rated 1-0 defeat by Accrington in the week, Bolton are still favourites to book 1 of 2 play off spots. A 3 way battle for 5th and 6th, Bolton in 5th have a 1 goal advantage over derby in 6th and 2 points and 4 goals over Peterborough in 7th. All 3 have home games today against mid table opposition so there is every chance we will have the exact same scenario next Sunday for the last round of fixtures. In their own hands Bolton win their last 2 games the play offs are guaranteed, a win and a draw, relying on other results. It's been a struggle since Wembley. 6 games Bolton have picked 11 points from 18 with just the 5 goals scored. Fatigue and lack of confidence seems to have creeped in and the side has clearly been missing both Santos and Toal through injury. With little impact by the January signings it's been the likes of Charles, Dempsey, Morley been looking for inspiration from. My prediction Bolton will just do enough and finish 6th but will go to a finger biting day in Bristol next Sunday. Team news. Toal is back in todays squad, Santos probably won't be. Bodvarsson and Iredale are doing well but not expected to be back until next season. Looks like Isgrove and Mbete have played their last game for Bolton. Kick off 3pm, lap of appreciation after the game and player of the year do tonight.

Funny things are managers contracts.

If we suddenly slump and need to get rid, it'll cost a fortune to change the manager.
Somebody poaches him, we are quids in but need a new manager.
Success on and off the field over the course of the whole contract makes it a good deal.

Will IE carry on learning and improving over another 3 years? Will IE still be here in 3 years' time?

Has the comment section on the Ben walked out due to not being paid?
Have I been hit by a mystery bug or have I entered the Twilight Zone.

A new EFL TV deal with Sky

More money and more cameras.
Good or bad, will the income make up for any loss of iFollow revenue.
Standby for more silly dates and kick off times.

Basically will lead to a fragmented fixture list where a Saturday 3pm kick off will be a rarity. Guess the end of ifollow which was rubbish frankly.

Don't be knocking iFollow Benny.
It may not be the best but it's made us a few bob.
I'd be stuffed for watching live games without it, as would many others who can't make it to BL6 and away games.

It's all going on at the neighbours.
Bury have been sorting themselves out. While over at Wigan they are fighting over the Anderson running a club manual.

Rochdale looking at another takeover, for Oldham see the latest study and theory on worm holes.

If I follow is scrapped, will BWFC go ahead with its own screening coverage? It has been muted and the club would be able to cash in, or will this new development be the nail in that coffin?

When you look at it, we didn't have that many games televised on Sky this season although we will hopefully have at least another two games with the playoff games if they are both televised.

How many games would we be guaranteed with the new deal?

Blimey SWIE
You've made me feel old there.
The 1st thing that came into my mind after reading your reply was this song.

Even older when it dawned on me, it was on the Tony Blackburn with Arnold (woof) morning show playing on the radiogram when I first heard it.

Agree about ifollow being a godsend for overseas fans plus during lockdown. The coverage though with just one camera angle and the awful commentators plus the lack of analysis game over off you go was terrible.

Talking of news
What is going on over at the BEN. Closed meetings, all very hush hush.

Within the group there are many compact editions of the local papers. Has the move not produced enough savings, is a merger and a more slimmed down look coming our way,
Or
Will it end up being a blank sheet of paper. Will Marc and Dan be moved to the archives permanently.
