Bales, I think yours is very similar to Arsenal?

And how many titles have they won? How many trophies?

Let’s be honest, your spending attracts a certain level of player and that level is beneath City, United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Spurs could have done better, of course.

But I think it’s fair to point out the limitations in Tottenham’s potential based on relative spend levels.

Yes? Exactly. There's no reason we couldn't have won a bunch of cups at our level of spending. Let's not forget that's being supplemented by our all time record goalscorer who was free..

All you're doing is saying richer clubs win more. I get it. But it's not informative at all. Do I want an oil money owner? Not really. I just want to see an actual football strategy. And I think we can be successful at our level of revenue. Of course we can.

To be specific, players will choose United and City even if we offered the same wages. Chelsea are a good reason why we shouldn't follow that model. We pay roughly the same as Liverpool AFAIK. They've just recruited a lot better in line with a top manager.

That’s not what I’m saying at all.

To the OP, I’m saying that the money spent on players needs to be considered in line with how wages compare alongside trophy winning clubs.

Further, I’m saying Spurs’ level of spending makes your par performance as 5th or 6th.

There’s no reason why you should have expected to win a bunch of cups and I don’t know why you’d think that’s realistic.

That is what you're saying. You brought up Arsenal. There's no reason we couldn't have won the FA cups they have since the Poch/Kane era. At all.

Oh no there is. A scattergun approach to hiring and firing managers and players with no actual strategy or plan

The problem is that £30m buys an average player these days. And has done for almost a decade. Fill your squad with £30m signings, and you end up with an average squad.

£30m bought both Akanji AND Alvarez. The two of them would have transformed Spurs season. They tend to buy badly though, thus where they are.

Well Leicester won the Prem and the FA Cup, Winston, so explain how that happened on them spending less than lots of clubs?

Because football isn’t a perfect science and random events will occur.
