Back to the Bernabeau

Here we go again!

Of course, the main team news is that Ake hasn’t travelled to Madrid - rival fans may think it’s not a major issue, but make no mistake it’s a huge loss… Ake has been brilliant this season, but at least out of favour Laporte had a run out at weekend.

Sticking with the theme at the back, Walker or Akanji on the right? I suspect Walker gets the nod, for his pace, although Akanji is the more competent defender… Either way Stones will be able to help out there, and personally I wouldn’t mind seeing either or start.

Further up the only question marks for me are who starts on the right, and who we see of Gundogan, Bernardo Mahrez, Alvarez and Foden.

We know we have the beating of Madrid, but we also know what they can do to us - the final minutes in Madrid last year being the most disappointing we have endured as blues for some time (life isn’t too bad these days is it in fairness!).

I go

Ederson
Walker Dias Laporte
Stones Rodri
Bernardo KDB Gundogan Grealish
Haaland

Come on City!

We need the support at home. Let’s hope the backoffice feck up doesn’t backfire on us.

I’ll be in Rome next week, work thing I couldn’t get out of. Going to be interesting watching it with Italians and to see who they root for though!

My Seasoncard has finally updated to the RM game.

Been stuck on Chelsea until now despite the fact they raped my bank account last Tuesday.

As a side note how was Carjaval not at least booked for that 5hithousery with Grealish in the first half? Atletico Madrid are the masters of it, but Real are certainly capable of emulating their cross city rivals when the referee fails to officiate appropriately as he did last night.

As a neutral, how does Carvajal get away with it so much, even in Spain they can't understand it ! but it might well work in your favour next week !

When Ake arrived he was seen as a competent second string centre half. What a transformation. He’s now arguably our best defender. When he went down on Saturday there was an audible groan in the stadium. He has been outstanding this season.

Italians are pretty knowledgeable / obsessed with il calcio in my experience. Be interesting who they root for!

I notice there’s been little troll abuse on this thread. I wonder why?

Not as good as the "L'Equipe" mini docos, but it's good.
Enjoy blues.

Apparently the ref from Tuesday got a good score and is likely to be nominated for the final 😂
