I do get it, and I understand those deposits are refundable. So if people don't want to wait they don't have to.

yes they do. you clearly dont know the process for refunds .... you need to apply for a refund for starters and like I said thats just the start.
And you still think this is good practice and refuse to criticise them for it. the best you can do is say i dont care and so and so did worse imo.
which somes up the entire debate perfectly.
You dont care when they do bad as long as you can find someone who has done worse !

I don’t think getting the deposit back is an issue. I threatened to take my deposit back and they called my bluff both times

yeah but its not as simple as clicking the refund. (also were talking about cybertruck refunds.
For the cybertruck you need to apply for a refund, fill out the forms and send it to Tesla. You then need to wait for someone to pick up the refund request 14 days, then up to 6 weeks to wait for the refund to be processed and clear in your account.

and you have a deposit down for a car that they have actually released already , were talking about the cyber truck that as of now has taken deposits from customer all over the world (over quarter a billion) from customers who they are not releasing the car to, and haven't told these customers that the car is not legal to be released and no plans to release it.

when you can admit they are doing wrong I will stop.
facts are they are sitting on over quarter a billion in deposits from customers they are not and cannot sell the cyber truck to.
