Scotland 1 v 5 Spain JA606 Charity Match

A flattering scoreline for the Spanish in a game that could have finished 8v8. Poor finishing cost Scotland badly.

A few crucial last minute drop outs also cost the Scots in the end. With a squad of only 13 the heat was a major factor along with many of the players not having played in quite some time. The Spanish with a large squad rotated well and avoided players getting exhausted.

The young lads did us proud. Wee Jum Jr2 battled away and took a few heavy knocks (mostly from Clark). CS Jnr ran box to box, Wee Jum Jr and CS Jnr mate ran the wing backs brilliantly.

Everyone grafted but the boys were a step above.

Man of the Match was dedicated to our friend Atheist and a lovely trophy was awarded at full time. The JA606 Brian Kilcoyne Man of the Match award went to Call Sign Jnr.

It was a vote by all players with Davie and CS Jnr 2 getting votes too. I avoided controversy by voting for CSJnr mate

To be fair Silver said to me today that CS Jnr would look like Messi at this level of football

So it is now 1v1 in the Scotland v Spain series. I'd like a final match next year but definitely need the squad availability and some players to get back playing regularly in preparation.
